Sorry if thread elsewhere, couldn’t see one - What are people thinking?

Back line and DMF is going to be a struggle isn’t it?

Chukwuemeka still sidelined by the looks of it, so if we end up relying on a Baleba-Gilmour DMF and playing Gross deep at least that’s something.

JPVH back and rested so that’s a plus but both Gross and Hinshelwood played 90’ at AEK as did Igor and Veltman so how fatigued are they? - and Dunk suspended of course - Are any of the U21 defenders up to the task - to play 25-30 mins? - Kavanagh or Ben Jackson?

Presumably Danny will start (Ferguson looked cream crackered on Thursday as did Mitoma), Lallana possibly - Buanonotte could be be deep CF or wide …

Dunno

Glad it is the manager not any of us that have to string a squad together from the walking wounded 🤔

Defence should be ok - Veltman, JPVH, Igor and Hinsh if they are all fit and not too knackered.
Midfield - 2 from Baleba, Dahoud, Gross
Attack - Who knows? Lallana and Goodnight are fit, Mitoma may not be to start, Fergie was knackered at the end on Thursday. Adingra?
So I would not be surprised to see a false 9 being played by someone unlikely or Duffus or another young 'un starting up top.
Could be fun and we will still win.

Something like this:

----------------- Steele ------------------
Veltman -- JPvH -- Igor -- Hinshelwood
----------- Baleba --- Gilmour ----------
Gross -------- Lallana ---------- Adingra
--------------- Ferguson -----------------

Most likely subs to come on: Milner, Buonanotte, JP and Mitoma, if fit enough
Edit: Moder is also available, so likely he'll play some part, but his return should be 'managed' so unlikely to start

These were my -- and others -- thoughts a week ago:

So RDZ isn't sure Joao Pedro & Mitoma are able to so start...

Adingra has started every single game for us since Marseille. Bearing in mind he's also been away with Ivory Coast in October & November, he's surely due a rest at some point? Ferguson also looked exhausted by the end in Athens. Worried about who starts on each wing & up front. Wouldn't be surprised to see Buonanotte shoehorned on the wing considering Lallana will probably start centrally

Really hope RDZ persists with Verbruggen in goal, defence probably picks itself(ish)... Verbruggen; Veltman, JPvH, Igor, Hinsh/Milner: Gross, Gilmour/Baleba; Lallana, Buonanotte + 2 others

Any reason you’ve mentioned that Chelsea player being out? He’s hardly played for them this season and even if fit is a squad player at best.

Were you thinking of someone else?

Might be a slight problem if we try and play Dahoud.
