Running out of actors now. I predict Dot Cottan will just disappear. But I suppose that is too obvious. But is is a pool car so Dot could plausibly say he had the been driving the car before. Got to check the forensics CSI style.

Bloody Hell!

Just finished watching - what an episode. I have no idea, at all how this is going to sort itself out.

Magnificent drama.

And quite how did they get away with putting a picture up of Fairbank and the fat councillor with Jimmy Saville  I notice they didn't actually name him though.

Brilliant series. Can't wait for next week.

Wow.

Sreve's car, he's going to get framed for this.

And Steve's Arnott's pocket book in Denton's anorak pocket. That's what we are meant to think. Same coat that was in Arnott's apartment etc. Forensic links?

Who signed out a gun when SA returned his. Third part of the frame up?

Will they go in with Armed Police to arrest Arnott? Arnott can't get shot dead cause there is a full 90 minutes to go.

Dot could then plant some mobile phones in Arnott's desk.

90 minutes is well enough time for a last minute shock?! Then Arnott could get killed?

No forensics on the internet list. Plenty of actors to interview though.

AC12 know that Fairbank was on first name terms with Dale Roach. He let it slip.

I don't think that you can libel or slander a dead person. Thought the photo looked pretty amateurish. But the series .... wow!

So what did you think – will Steve go down for Denton’s death? Can Dot get away with this, or will it be Kate Fleming to the rescue at the last? As ever, all speculation and no spoilers …

Steve will either end up behind bars waiting trial, or dead next week.

Dot will get taken down at the end of series 4 ( or 5 if the bbc decide to extend the run ).

Kate possibly asked to go undercover to investigate Dot rather than Hastings.

Hastings will end up suspended next week, and a smirking Dot put in charge of AC-12.

My guesses.

And don't forget Morton still has his evidence on Dot ( I reckon this won't be referenced until series 4 ).

I do wish Kate Fleming would grow a pair (so to speak!). All this wheedling in her ear by Dot must surely have aroused her suspicions as to a possible smokescreen, and to frame Arnott as well. Gripping stuff though.

Why put false plates on a pool car? Presumably it's been booked out by Steve.

Yeah, and why the close up emphasis when he signed his gun back in, with the dodgy looking geezer behind him?

I smell a few issues for young fella Steve.

I know all the speculation is about how Steve is framed but surely there's one massive bit of evidence that Dot can't cover up: the list of names? Ted now has the list (the one that Steve said existed and accused Dot of covering up). It may well be Steve's word against Dot's but he's got the existence of the list to back him up. There's also the Asian female cop (can't remember her name) who also knows that Dot has been trying to keep things quiet.

And that's before we uncover the evidence that Neil Morrissey has on Dot - whatever that is

I think that's a bit of a red herring. I'm not even convinced he is a mason, he's a Catholic and they can't be masons.

I agree. I think the 'i can't talk about that' line was deliberately placed to make people think he is a Mason and so deflect others while he gets to the bottom of things

What is the list of names? Not evidence (no blood stains on computer). Not even worth killing for?

The whole plot is preposterous and I don't know why I am watching it?!

It started off so good with the queries over the shooting of Danny Waldron, but it turned out that the plot had flaws then and that was down to the writing.
