don't get me wrong the series has been brilliant and another would be nice but the BBC built it up for a finale and it didn't come which was disappointing... i want to see series 5 of the bridge if it is ever made.....

Love Nordic Noir so much. Fortuitously I had Borgen in reserve, after missing it originally, not sure why.

I binge watched it last winter .... amazing.

There must be a 7th and final series where they bring down Osbourne. There's no way anyone thought it would be fun and exciting for the climax of a 9 year buildup to be a bit-part Brummie Keyser Söze. They could even do a 4 part special. I'LL TAKE ANYTHING OVER THAT!!!

Totally agree. As a finale it was utter dog turd. The interview scene with Buckles was more like a comic relief sketch. Awful.

I think there will be a 7th series - the only reason being that they didn't give an update on Ted, Steve and Kate, telling us what happened to them. Unless they did that bit while I was staring blankly at my wife, trying to take in what I'd just seen.

They didn't, which is what makes me think there will be a further series of it as there are frankly a whole shed load of loose ends which have never been tied up.

I watched it again.

A lot better 2nd viewing. Perhaps the anticipation and build up craved something spectacular. I had sort of fallen asleep at different points first time which didn't help. Worth another look as lots of little things I didn't pick up on made it a bit more compelling 2nd time

Forget the loose ends that didn't get tied up - IMO that entire end sequence *created* new loose ends to be tied up specifically so they can go ahead and do a season 7. The whole anti corruption "is now owned by Osbourne" (his people being in charge) and "has never been in a weaker place" set of lines is a blatant tee-up for a 7th series *if* they want to do one.

The 7th series, if it happens, will all be based in a backdrop of AC having been stripped back and deliberately run in a way designed to *not* find corruption, while our erstwhile heroes try to find a way to get the evidence they need without being shutout / shutdown. A key storyline will revolve around whether or not they can convert Carmichael to their side, before a finale where they either succeed at the last in getting Carmichael to join them, providing the key to solving it all OR despite her blocking their every step are able to uncover the smoking gun that forces her hand.

Hastings banked on 'good' big time given his admission and leaving himself at her mercy.

That spoke to me that now she's in the position she wanted and no longer needs to play the career ladder, the seeds of doubt he has sown he hopes will see her carrying the "fire"...so help me mother of God...

Both Mrs KZN and myself agree that if you have to go on a podcast to explain the ending then you have not done your job properly. We think he got lost and fudged it. Still meh for us I'm afraid

Is it too simplistic to say that no-one (including Jed) knows if/when there will be a seventh series? Hence leaving some of the storylines up in the air and also so that all those outraged at the quality of the ending would having something else to look forward to at some point.

Of course it's not. How many TV shows have ended with a cliffhanger that promised more, but never happened?
