Maybe it's just me - I loved The Office and Extras and generally love Gervais but this is one vehicle too far flogging the same horse and doing it quite badly imho. I'm surprised that anyone could have found the angry TV presenter or the bridegroom characters amusing.

It's not just you, I feel they have gone back to the safe "documentary" style again, I am a fan of gervais but this is poor compared to office/extras

It is, with the possible exception of Have I Got News For You (when it's good), absolutely the funniest programme on telly. Funny meaning it makes me laugh. A lot. That's what I want from a comedy. That it makes me laugh. Simple stuff, really.

There's a simple thing that happens to people that have done brilliant work in their past, as Gervais and Merchant have: a load of people who want to appear clever predictably sneer "but it's not as good as...". Well, maybe not but it's still absolutely superb and head and shoulders above anything else that's out there, pardon the pun.

It still works for me. Maybe because Davis is a dwarf it is even more cringeworthy than office/extras, it allows Gervais to carry on with his style but with a whole new scope of ideas. I wonder who he is going to pick on next.
Depps reaction when he opens the hotel door to Davis is gold and is still making me chuckle.

I'm with you guys.

Rev is much better. This is old hat and not terribly funny.

How you can call this old hat compared to Rev is beyond me.
Rev = Vicar of Dibley / any other sit com

This is comedy at the top of its game. I can understand if 'its not for you' as all comedy
is subjective, but don't tell me its old hat

Rev is wryly funny with very few LOL moments.

Life's too short is HILARIO if you like that sort of comedy. And if you do, check out my link as it won't be shown on telly.

I'll tell what I f*cking want, thanks.

This is The Office and Extras, all over again, but with Warwick Davies in the Brent /Millman role. Therefore it's old hat. Its EXTREMELY old hat when you watch it after watching Curb Your Enthusiasm, where Gervais seems to have nicked his ideas from.

Rev = Vicar of Dibley. Oh dear.

I'm sorry fella, but I just find that life is too short to be amused by Gervais flogging a long dead horse and doing it badly in Life is Too Short and that is an opinion that has absolutely nothing do do with me wanting to appear clever for whatever reason.

I do think this is funny - the celeb cameos especially. But I think Davis plays the comedy too much like Gervais. It's like he's a mini-me of him which is a little off-putting. The looks to camera and awkward moments are done as if Davis has studied the Office and Extras and copied every little detai. I know it's Gervais's writing but Davis needs to add more to the show than just being a dwarf.

Liam Neeson was brilliant on the first episode.

Another great episode, Davis going to the school to confront his cyber critic was one of those moments when you laughed even though you shouldn't have. And getting his fellow dwarf from Police custody was another classic.

First time I'd seen it last night. Yes it WAS good, undeniably, but it just 'Extras' with dwarves isn't it?

Still it's miles ahead of most of the mainstream crap that ITV and BBC put out as 'comedy'.

Copper: " I had to take his sword off him "

Gladiator Dwarf: " Don't care I have my own pork sword" Look ...(pulls down shorts) and pukes down himself.

Warwick Davis : "Oh god, he's just puked on his penis !!!

HA HA HA HA !! If you don't find this program funny in any way !! Ummm why !!! Seems theres a lot of wannabe TV critics on here , who can't just enjoy a comedy for what it is, FUNNY !!!
