I have to admit, after 3 weeks in Lockdown (albeit a very British type of 'open prison' Lockdown), there are certain apects of this new stripped-back lifestyle I quite enjoy. For a start the complete lack of anywhere to go and anything to do brings a wholes new simplicity to life that is quite refreshing. The pace of life has fallen off a cliff, with a focus on living more in the moment as opposed to '...right. What's next?' And of course, the lack of traffic on the roads is a complete tonic. And finally there is a real sense of a shared purpose that has galvanised the whole country in a way that really didn't seem possible after the chasm wrought by Brexit and the associated fallout.

Of course, it will be good to get the other side of this and to see the country get back on it's feet. But I reckon there will be elements of life in Lockdown I'll look back on in years to come with a certain degree of wistful nostalgia. It's not all bad.

Lack of traffic?? I can honestly say, Hangleton has more cars on the road than pre-lockdown. I continue to be confused and amazed as to why so many people are in their cars. Where are they going?

quite like the quite shopping, no traffic to and from shops. if i had the chance to empty the garage and get some stuff for gardening that would have made it a touch.

' And of course, the lack of traffic on the roads is a complete tonic. .

Storrington, one of the worst air polluted places in the South East of England due to vehicles rat running through the Village, has suddenly become a far more pleasant place to wander about...

Not going food shopping 5 or 6 times a week. More organised now, ‘big shop’ on Saturday, top-up Wednesday.

Waited many years for the OK to be this dull!

Nothing. I want to see my family - in real life, not on Skype or on the phone. My grandson could be walking before I see him again! I'd like to drive for ten minutes up to the top of the Cotswolds and admire the view and watch the sun go down.

I'd like a hug too ...........................................

We have got loads done in the garden and are well ahead of the usual schedule. Yes, we are lucky in that we can get out and the weather these last 2 weeks has played its part. It hasn't been all bad for us, but of course the downside is that it has caused misery for so many families.

1) I am absolutely loving not commuting to to central London. I also had to go to Luton weekly.

2) I am enjoying not hearing traffic and i like the quietness (not that i have been out in it)

3) Love seeing, or hearing about the thriving wildlife.

4) I actually feel quite cosy at home. I am liking wfh and going in the other room to see my 3 year old.

I am a future hermit in the making so i am handling this quite well.

Working 2 mins from my bed is great! and the money saved from coffee shop runs, fuel, snacks, lunchs at work etc is also good. Downside is being cooped up with a bored child!

Being a child of the 70's I quite like the feel of the serenity of a old fashioned Sunday. Only newsagents open till about lunchtime and then a slap up roast dinner.

I won't piss all over this thread although I have 110% sympathy with GT49er (have a virtual hug, mate), so....

I like the absolute quiet (here in Fav) with nobody about when I went on a bit of much required cycle exercising this afternoon.

I like the fact I am spending all day with the missus and nipper, and the surprise and delight that we are all getting on well, if not actually better than normal.

I like the fact I can spend time in the garden every day.

I like the fact this reminds me of the 1960s - nothing to do, time to gaze into the middle distance and dream . . . .

I like the idea that this is a game changer and that it may make us more socialist (in a non party political, but a naive and new idiological sense) when we tumble out of it in mid 2021.

But (and I have to say this) I can't enjoy any of it while there are people suffering, worrying about their existence, the health of loved ones, their livlihood and home. Sorry Bry Nylon.

Other than a few technical issues, I'm liking WFH. I'm liking sloping downstairs in my dressing gown, signing in, putting the radio on, having a cup of tea and mooning about for an hour or so before I get showered, dressed and start "properly".

I'm loving not having to yomp backwards and forwards from HH every day. I'm liking the bonus that my bank account is now unmolested by the petrol pump, or my local. I'm enjoying the weather in the garden, both when working and loafing. Actually looking forward to knocking it into shape this weekend with some borders and shit. And its kind of NICE just being at home all the time, not being expected to go out and "do domething", totally with Bry Nylon on that. I'm on my 3rd book since the lockdown, never had the chance to do that before.

I'll whisper this, but I'm quite enjoying the lockdown.

Watched a load of 'Waking the Dead'.

So well written, even puts a few subsequent Scandi noirs in the shade.

Great chance to hear new albums in peace and quiet.

Bung in some great audiobooks and life is all go.

Have discovered I’m quite good at decorating. Done the hall and the upstairs bathroom. A relaxing way to while away the day

Currently realising I don't like having other people "come into my living room" via Zoom for yet another online quizzy get-together when I'd rather be watching telly…

I'm definitely enjoying the lack of traffic in Newhaven which is usually gridlocked most days. I am actually enjoying driving again if I go out.
I usually get quite stressed by work and the pace of life, i feel very calm at the moment.

I am working sort of part time now only doing essential plumbing work, but everyone that has called me has been so nice and grateful that I have helped them. On a normal day I get people making me feel guilty because I can't drop everything to get to their home to fix a dripping tap.

I'm also enjoying doing odd jobs in my garden that I struggle to do because im tired from a long working week.
