Grant Holt has proved previously that he is not up to Championship standard but I wouldnt object to us signing him in part exchange for or even a staraight swap for Dickinson.

Grant Holt cost them 500k I believe, and scored 24 goals this season, why on earth would they swap him for someone who struggled in league 1 this season.

Dickinson cost Derby £750k, so some people must rate him even if we dont and i dont by the way...He has also scored goals in the championship, stranger things have happened. We can only hope.

Indeed. This rumour has to be one of the daftest of the close-season so far. Mind you, I'd better play it safe & go & get myself a new hat - just in case I need to eat it in the not-too-distant. Here's hoping.

they will not swap Holt. But if they are willing to buy Dickinson and Poyet does not want him then sell. If Gus keeps him then i trust that decision.

Exactly. The only two they MAY consider, is Martin or Ollie Johnson, probably more the latter.

4 goals in 17 appearances for us, plus another 10 as sub.

Pretty poor.

*Awaits Acker with some bizarre stat that manages to make out he is better than Murray in some way*

Oh you!

All I would say is that according to my records, he has 6 goals in 20 starts and 11 sub appearances, I presume you are just listing the league stats, whereas mine include cup games.

(Just for you, If I were to try to make Dickinson appear better than Murray it would be easy, but also silly; home goals this season Dickinson 4 - Murray 2.)

I do not believe that Norwich would swap Dickinson for Holt but may be prepared to take him in part exchange, that is assuming they realise that Holt cant cut it in The Championship.

I'm sure they would swap one of their strikers ( possibily the best league one attack this season) for somebody who can't get a game for brighton. Get a grip

They MAY sell him taking Dickinson as part exchange simply because Holt has previously proved he isnt good enough for The Championship and that Div 1 is his level. Dickinson has played and scored in the Championship and his non playing at Brighton is not to do with his ability but his attitude probably.

dickinson just needs a run of games and to get some confidence

This!

If he bought some blue boots of flair (Bennett & Hendrie) he would fit right in to our team, he scored plenty for stockport in a promotion pushing side but struggled in Russell Slade's 'hoof it long to the big man' system.

I honestly think he could do a job for us in a passing side, but he would need to prove himself during pre-season as he woosied out of last season and went on loan rather than fighting for his place.

I think he'd be better off having his huge feet reduced by about 5 sizes & turned in 45 degress at the ankles, quite frankly.

In League two not one.

Although I am inclined to agree with you regarding the hoof it system not playing to his strengths.

Personally I just cannot see Gus altering our 4-5-1 approach which tends to rely on the 1 always being able to multi task as a centre forward.

While this may not be true why are people so down on it, he just been on loan at the bottom team in the championship and scored goals and also got goals while on loan at Blackpool year before. Some are far too harsh because he is not what people wanted/expected for a big lad up top
