As he's your friend, could you ask him to stop putting the word 'admit' before every quote from a player (as in "Lewis admitted he enjoyed scoring the winning goal")? It was what finally tipped me over the edge when it came to reading the Argus.

Hahaha, I love that.

Chelsea have NOT made a stunning £40million offer to sign Lewis Dunk, with Brighton insisting their centre-back and club captain is ‘not for sale’.

The Seagulls also don’t want to sell in-demand defender Ben White this summer and will definitely not sell to a ‘relegation rival’ – which, talkSPORT has been told, rules out a possible move to Leeds United.

talkSPORT were brought the latest transfer news from the south coast on Monday, which will leave plenty of the Elland Road faithful disappointed.

It appears Leeds’ hopes of re-signing White in a permanent deal this summer are over, with claims Brighton will not allow the 20-year-old centre-back to strengthen one of their expected rivals in next season’s battle for Premier League survival.

White enjoyed a superb campaign on loan for the Whites last season, helping the Yorkshire club end their long wait for a return to the top-flight, and manager Marcelo Bielsa is keen to make him a full-time Leeds player.

Liverpool have also been linked with an interest, while Manchester United are said to have joined the race over the past week.

But talkSPORT’s south coast correspondent and transfer insider Alex Crook says Brighton are determined to keep hold of him this summer.

Crook also rubbished the recent reports that Chelsea are close to signing 28-year-old Dunk – a boyhood Blues fan – in a £40m deal.

Tottenham are also said to be interested in the Seagulls star, but our man on the south coast says the rumours are bogus.

“I’ve spoken to people very close to the player and spoken to my sources at Brighton,” he told talkSPORT host Jim White.

“They haven’t received a bid from Chelsea, and they wouldn’t welcome one.

“Lewis Dunk is happy on the south coast and I’m told he’s 95 per cent certain to stay a Seagulls player.”

On the latest surrounding White’s future, Crook added: “We know Leeds are desperate to get him, and there have been other clubs linked as well.

“I’m not too sure clubs like Manchester United will be looking at Ben White at this stage. I think he’s a player with great potential but he hasn’t played above the Championship yet; it would be a massive gamble for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Ben White is loved by Leeds fans, but it appears he won’t be heading back to Elland Road this summer

“Bielsa loves him and he fits into the system at Leeds, but Brighton want to keep him and certainly do not want to sell him to a relegation rival – and they would deem Leeds in that category.

“He is expected to stay.”

There is one defender who could leave Brighton this summer, though, in Shane Duffy – a target for Celtic as well as two Premier League clubs.

“West Ham and West Brom are both very keen on permanent deals,” Crook added.

“Celtic want to take him on loan; they’re going to have to pay a substantial loan fee to do so, but my understanding is that perhaps Duffy would favour that move to go and play in the SPL and play in the Champions League as well… at least for a couple of qualifying rounds.

“He just doesn’t fit the style at Brighton, Graham Potter wants footballing central defenders and for all his quality, Duffy isn’t one of those.”

Its not my agenda or values - its the club you support who i'm proud care about them front and centre. .
If you think equality and diversity isn't worth it - no worries. Take it up with them. I'm sure they'd been keen to hear from you about it.

You can try and put words in my mouth all you like but no I am all for equality and always will be. Using the word girl for a young female isn’t offensive in my book whatsoever - nor is boy - and I will continue to use whatever language or descriptive words I feel are correct in life as I know I don’t mean them offensively. I won’t have fear of saying the wrong thing on an Internet forum because some people want to find fault / drama / prejudice in the slightest little thing these days.

If you're all for equality don't bring gender into stuff for no reason. It's that simple.

That’s hardly bringing someone’s gender into it is it! It’s a normal descriptive word of what the English language uses as a description. Wrong comment.

So yeh, you’re wrong and I didn’t bring gender into it.

Worthing
Why?! She is a girl. Don’t bring that PC bollocks into something that isn’t needed. Female = girl = women = lady = same thing.

Not the term for me, more the identification of gender.

Can’t see it’s relevant - sorry Sheebo

This, is it also wrong to call the U23’s “The Kids” which I hear all the time?

Yes, this drives me mad. They make everything sound like the person interviewed, quoted, or overheard has just copped to some huge crime.

**** me some want to hug a tree so tightly they’ll pick up on anything these days

Ok I retract girl - ‘shit young journalist female who clearly doesn’t understand sports journalism and thinks she can search the internet for stories which she wasn’t taught to do on her poncy journalist degree’. Far better

Anyway - The boy Owen is back now so should get some better stories.

Weirdly, she claims on her twitter profile to be an Albion fan. There wasn't much evidence of that in her contributions to the Argus online.
