Who actually is our back up centre half at the moment?
Bernardo possibly? Unless Lamptey has a good leap on him

Didn't this happen 2 seasons ago when he was 1 or 2 cards from a ban and went the rest of the season without getting another?
Looking further ahead, it's slightly discomforting that The Times this morning reports that LD is one of three centre backs being tracked by Man City.
A trait as an Albion fan I have picked up from the club that appears now, wants to buy and hoard talent and loan It out. Where their policy falls down in my view is, that they appear to be prepared to implement this policy at the detriment of the front side.
How does it negatively affect the first team?
Shane Duffy (who they said would be available for the Watford game).
Beyond Dunk / Webster / Duffy, I guess it would be a move central for Bernardo.
After that who knows. Probably Hayden Roberts.
I don't think that's how Tony sees it. It's not either or, but rather that investment in players with potential should either further strengthen our first team in the future (at an affordable rate), or be sold for a profit. So it should either save the club money, or make them money, which will allow more to be spent on the first team. The transfer and agents fees spent on these players may have been put at better use in strengthening the team struggling to keep its Premier League place
Apparently Man City have lost the title because they are missing one centre back.

But I don't think the young players are being prioritised, I think the club are spending what they can on the first team, and then separate to that, they're also buying young players with potential. Of course I don't know that's the case, it's just an opinion.Absolutely up for that once the club has consolidated itself in the Premier League. If we were to be relegated it will take a lot of player sales to recover the money received for being in the Premier League. I call it getting your priorities right, but of course it’s not my money to gamble
