But if that is the case, then surely it makes sense to play him at left back once or twice in the friendlies?

More friendlies to come yet and formations being tried out.

Why can't we have some additional players - CKR was for free and we have lost around 8 players off the wage bill recently and we have additional revenue from extra seats.

Errrr...CKR cost us £250,000 in signing on (six figures) plus wages. Please see Jam the Man (Aaron Berry's confirmation).

Does anyone else get the feeling that last season Kerekes might've been a bit more useful than McCammon?

Not on today's performance, student, But you'd have known that if you'd have bothered to go :salute:

Apart from a couple of defensive errors caused by players being unsure as to who was marking whom, it was a good display. Neither of our keepers look good enough yet though.

Can't see how he's contradicting that. Just making the point the the Coca Cola money wasn't in the budget and monies exist elsewhere.

I think Kuipers might have bailed the defence out with both their goals though.

How would i know?I'm pissed.
I overheard CKR chatting to a mate and i quote "he doesn't speak a word of English" so i assume he was talking about the Argie............not going to be easy for him :(

What a entertaining game! :clap2: :clap2:

Glad to say the first-half team looked fantastic, we ruled the midfield (all our first choice midfielders, except maybe the right-wing. And C K-R was just superb. Dodd was excellent too until picking up an injury. I love everything about this signing right down to his stupid west country accent :clap2:

Second half we relaxed, let massive gaps develop in midfield (Chippy tiring and Alexis not pulling his weight) and not surprisingly they got back two goals on the break - very similar to Worthing's. Have to say they took them well, although the announcer gave the MOTM to the French-named forward, the rightwinger No 17 for Lewes was terrific, what a run and pass for the second goal.

In the dying stages, Reid added a bit of class and made a goal for Jake, who finished well. And Big Mac ended a useful half - I'm sure to the consternation of many of his "supporters" :salute: by right-footing a lovely finish in much the same manner as Jake.

Great day out of the team, particularly pleased with the starting midfield and C K-R dominating the game - that gives me huge optimism we are on the right track. Pleased with Dodd, I think we will give Mayo a go at either left-back/left wing back. Sullivan wasn't terrible but goalkeepeing is all about experience and that's what we need.

More progress today, whatever we think of the triallists.

Let's get our terminology right - C K-R is not a "free" and he looks worth every penny of the six figures we paid for him and, in my opinion, more. Fantastic signing, his best perforemance of the 4 games I've seen :drink: :drink:

I went to the Lewes game last year & the same thing happened again today. i.e. Yards of charming clacker!

I grew up in the county town & I don't remember there being that many fine looking women about. They just turn up for the Albion games, marvellous!

As for the game. Disappointing, but I s'pose shouldn't read too much into it. I thought the new guy at the back looked solid enough, but the new guy up front looked too one footed, (right) which was obvious when he was put through on goal. He had some nice touches though; more skill than McPhee. Good finish by Jakey who upped the tempo when he came on.
