Lord Bracknell
On fire
If the rise of Lewes to the threshold of promotion to national football had meant the loss the bond with their supporters, mona might have a point.
But that hasn't happened.

It's not really the whole board. It's just the same 7 or 8 posters who ALWAYS post whenever that particular club is mentioned on here. Why should I care? I am a BRIGHTON fan using a BRIGHTON fans messageboard. To be honest, I care more about the Palarse result than I do about the Lewes one. I can't understand this particular obsession that appears to be developing about Lewes, rather than Worthing, Bognor, Horsham or any other sussex non-league club
I don't understand this obsession with people saying "I don't understand this obsession"

Havant v Boro for me
The favourite line that people spin as a reason for going to non league football is 'cos I can have a beer on the terrace'. How f***ing sad is that
The reason I do have a point is that EB have stronger links with Sussex football and have a better infrastructure as a club. They are the more likely club to maintain success long term. IMHO clubs need to produce some of their own players to have identity and credibility. If the rise of Lewes to the threshold of promotion to national football had meant the loss the bond with their supporters, mona might have a point.

Having said that, the Dripping Pan has great character and is a much better ground to visit and yes the Harveys as well.
agree with that - the majority of eastbourne players are there for the club. they have been picked out by boro, as opposed to being there simply for what they can be paid

the real annoying thing though is the way that everyone bleats on about how lewes have done so well to get where they are, from ryman south to conference in such a short space of time and get the dripping pan up to standards. always seem to gloss over the fact that 10 years ago boro where playing county league football

As has been said before, couldn't give a shit about Lewes
.
And your points is?
Ten years ago Lewes almost went out of business thanks to a ex palace wanker who though he could take the club on to better things. Thankfully the present board took over and rebuilt the club first using players who played for nought, the bar had no beer and the bailiffs took the cooker but we plugged through until we are where we are now . Its progress dear boy. I'm sure Wigan fans who went thirty years ago are not saying it was a lot better when we use to get one man and a dog here. If you don't like whats going on down at Lewes thats fair enough but do you have to keep going on about players from London, how much money is being spent etc etc its getting very boring.
Withdean of course.
I do go to the Pan every so often though but that is only if Albion doesn’t have a game (like when we were supposed to play ‘uddersfield.) Or if it’s an away game I can’t really afford to go to but still want to see a live game rather than watch some Premiershite stuff down the pub.
Main reason why I choose Lewes to watch is that its 2 stops on the train for me, any others would mean more traveling and I’m not really going to go overly out of my way to watch a live game, and also I went to college there so do have a slight connection with the place.
