I noticed they won 3-0 away last night at Yeading . Also after hammering highly fancied Farnboro' 6-2 on Saturday. I reckon could do very well this season!
Does anybody know if The Dripping Pan now meets the required criteria for entry into the Conference?

Cheers

Friend of mine is a season ticket holder there and goes home and away nearly every game. He seems to think that the team they have this season is far better then last season and that they will be there or there abouts come May. Work should be done in time for them to be able to go up, so they could well be playing National Conference football next season.

Non-league's got a lot going for it at the moment. It's cheap to get in, and you don't have to buy a ticket in advance. You can stand up, or sit down. You can get a reasonable cup of tea at Lewes which costs about 50 or 60p AND it actually tastes like tea. I suspect you can buy chips there too.

They've changed home nights to Wednesdays this year, presumably not to clash with the Albion. I watch maybe 10 times a year, and it's nearly always good entertainment.

I don't think there are many of last years squad still at Lewes now...there's certainly been a few brought in. As to whether the Dripping Pan will meet conference national standards, apparently a condition of John Robinson signing was Lewes guaranteeing that it would be up to scratch in the event of them winning promotion or a play off place.

I wonder if the talk of a ground share possibility that was mentioned in the piece is going to tempt them to ask the Albion to use Withdean while their work is on-going?

Quite right too. If the ground doesn't meet the requirements this time around, serious questions should be asked as to whether the board wants success badly enough.

They weren't given enough time to do the ground improvements last season.

Beleive me us at Lewes our trying as hard as we can to get up the next ladder of the table. Last Saturday we beat Farnborough who our one of the favorites for promotion 6 - 2 and last night beat Yeading 3 - 0 who the season before Lewes only just beat 1nil in the play-offs. The players Steve King has brought in are all Conference standard or above so we are certainly going for promotion. Sadly the ground like the Albion is not up to high level football BUT WE HAVE planning permission to do the ground up. Weather this is done in time for us to get promotion is anyone's guess but hopefully Terry Parris and the board know what their doing and Lewes will be in the Conference Sooner rather than later.

P.S. We all think Norman Bakers a C*nt here as well.

Carshalton on Saturday and hopefully 3 more point.
