Lewes economy post Amex opening

Apologies if this has been done before, couldn't find anything....

It occured to me recently that on match days for Brighton, there are large numbers of people spending money in Lewes that otherwise would not be. Notable benifactors being The Landsdown and other pubs, not to mention the council's parking fee coffers from in and around the station.
Although the Lewes council members are now largely different from those who waged war against it, I wonder if the the stadium is now considered to be a benifit to Lewes? Would Norman Baker accept this to be the case I wonder?

My personal opinion is who cares, LDC railed against it. They lost, we won, so what they think now matters not one jot.

You could argue that the football parking in Lewes is actually to the detriment of the town, as people are taking up spaces for people who might have spent lots of money in the town, rather than park up and disappear for 2-4 hours.

Economically it was a no brainer in that Lewes would gain a multi million £ satdium barely 10 mins away from them, loads of extra spending visitors and at no cost to Lewes at all.

But then the yokel, little, Lewes council couldn't resist the chance to continue their jealous spite against Brighton & Hove.

Norman Baker with his tunnel vision for preventing anything new, almost deprived his own constituency gaining financially. C*ck.

There's even an enterprising Kingston farmer doing park n ride!
