Why not? Caicedo £90m + Sanchez £30m going in their direction, Colwill (humour them with, say £50m) plus a humungous chunk of money going in our direction. Both clubs need to think they've got the best end of the deal. And at this moment in time, maybe both would
Uhm, Sanchez isn't worth anywhere near 30m, he's probably worth half of that. And we also wouldn't give up Colwill + HUMUNGOUS chunk of money for that deal. Honestly, only Brighton would win from that deal and it would never happen

Sadly for you, your idiot owners are up against Tony Bloom. He'll have crunched the numbers to the nth degree and will outsmart your poor saps once again

The quantity and quality of talent produced by the Chelsea Academy is genuinely staggering. Kudos must go to Frank Lampard for being the first manager in many years to utilise it.

No doubt Levi would have had a fondness for Albion but at Chelsea Football Club he'll likely have the chance of regular Champions League football and a pathway to the England senior side. Not only that but this coming season he'll get to play alongside Thiago Silva - one of the greatest central defenders this millennium, what price can a young player put on such an experience?
Staggering in terms of it's not produced enough to prevent your club spaffing hundreds of millions of pounds pretty much every transfer window on new players? Yeah – sounds like an amazing model to follow!

Genuine question to you and your Kings Road-bothering mate, why are you posting on here?

Unbelievable giving him a 6 year contract. Hyped up by media because he is left footed but I thought he had more mistakes in him out of all our CBs

Agreed

Lukaku, Drogba, Matic and Luiz all let go and bought back for massively inflated fees. Moronic!

Released or sold at bargain prices and doing well at other sides Tomori, Abraham, Rice, Guehi, Musiala, De Bruyne, there are probably more, you as a Chelsea fan will know

You produced them but you chose not to play them and spunked millions on either bringing them back or buying other clubs stars.

Can you really not see how much better our model is?

Mistakes were made. But 5 European trophies in a 10 year period suggests the model wasn't without merit. :)

And how much of that was down to the players who went through the academy?

It's the current chelsea way to give long contracts. In fact by their current standards, 6 years is on the shorter side.

Yep nice touch that. Good luck to the lad. I think he would have been very happy joining us, but has also now bagged himself life changing wages at Chelsea & the chance to play for a top team (once they sort the mess they’ve been in). Albeit one without European football this season 😉 Let’s see how it plays out in the future…
