Maybe wishful thinking, but the way RDZ spoke about him in the presser just now suggests there's more to this than simply a season loan.

just want to add he was f***ing brilliant. five or six times he was in a position where he had to win a header or else everton would be in behind and he made it every single time. really hope we can get him permanently, especially with chelsea signing that new left centre back

Naylor seems to be suggesting there is no option/commitment to buy

I always thought this was the case. He’s done well recently and I don’t think there’s a better chance of getting him now.

Fee - no idea, assuming £20m on potential
You’d think we are in prime position to sign him given he’s here and his chances are diminishing - but will Chelsea try and screw us on any deal given the ‘history’

They may do, but the argument is we’ve been very accommodating to Chelsea, it’s not our fault it hasn’t worked out yet

I'd would be great if we could sign him this window.
In reality, Chelsea would only sell to us if we offered up one of our best as part of the deal. Probably Caicedo or Mac so it’s a no from me. However, if contract-dodger Trossard was part of the deal, I’d be interested. Colwill + £20m for Tross?

Allegedly they are trying to hijack the Mudryk deal !

In my opinion there is not a chance Chelsea will let him go.

Chelsea have 3 good centre backs as far as I'm aware. Forfana, Koulibaly and Thiago Silva.

I assume Silva's contract must be up this season or next. With his age they will need another centre back coming in.

It's a nice thought, but it aint happening.

Are they not signing another CB shortly ?

They may be but I think top clubs want 4 to 5 good cb's, especially with the possiblilty of playing 3.

If Thiago Silva goes in the summer then I can see them retaining Colwill. They don't want another Tomori situation.

Do swap deals ever actually happen in the UK? Always talked about on here but don't seem that common at all...
Very rarely these days when players and agents often get a percentage of the fee - no fun with a swap then. I can only think of Sanchez / Mkhitaryan in recent times.

We should be trying to get the permanent transfer done this month, either sign this guy or focus on players who we can build the team around into the future.
