f***ing hell, I get pissed off paying Leaders £41 for the same thing. Why don't you just move and rent through someone else?

As soon as the tenancy expires we will be. It's just a shame to lose our house as, despite the problems, it's a beautiful place that suits us all perfectly. It's also about as close to the centre of Brighton as you can get without having to pay for parking, which also means unless we move further out we're all going to need to get on the waiting list for parking permits as we're not entitled to them here.

Plus I HATE moving house. But Lampons have driven us to it

I think we're looking for a whole management service. We've already had our fingers burnt by Just Lets who put a tenant in there without checking his references. If they had they'd have seen that he'd:
a) Done time
b) was a professional scam artist with a history of not paying his rent
c) had a history of disappearing leaving frustrated owners having to deal with bailiffs on his behalf.
They were utter shite and made us feel like criminals when we had the gall to ask for his deposit to cover a small percenatge of the missing rent.

We want somebody we can batter if things go tits up, but naturally of course we want all this as cheaply as possible!!!

They do a Full management service as well - 12% I think.

Letts Letting Agency at the back of Mishon Welton's office at 94 Church Road are very good. I've let a few out through them.

Do not go near them. If or when they go bust you will lose your deposit. You need an agent that is ideally a member of ARLA and therefore your deposit is protected. In my large experiance of letting agents leaders are the best Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

Agreed - one of the best letting agents in teh City. Can also highly recommend Ashcroft and Dean in Church Road - speak to Phil, again, very good

Only if the agent or landlord registers the tenancy correctly which many are not........

sadly the new legislation has about as much teeth as my grandma.

Try Pembertons Pembertons.co.uk I was a tenant of theirs for 3 years and never gave me a problem. Quite small but very professional ansd they have their own handyman

Thats the first good thing I've ever heard about Leaders. My experience of them has been awful
