I'm not necessarily disagreeing but what in particular is distressing for you? I skimmed through it and thought it the usual civil-service-style officialise but didn't notice it being particularly illiterate.
Naah in hindsight it was the initial wall of text and lack of paragraphing. Which I subsequently realised was the product of the OP's exuberant copy and pasting skills.

I think I’ll stick to commenting on football matters, all things Brighton and Hove Albion, and humorous frivolity.
Which of course, is exactly the aim of our incumbent government - not just on this conflict - but to scare people into subduing all levels of dissent, scrutiny or protest.

As a Jew and a supporter of Palestinian rights I have avoided the main thread. But this piece of Braverman suggests we can not show support for Palestinians in any noticeable way or face prosecution. I feel I could do this without being a threat to Britain's Jewish community - but apparently not. It's like being in the Labour party all over again.

Are they classing 'Free Palestine' or the Palestine flag as support of Hamas instead of support of the people in Palestine who have lived through 70 years of occupation?
doubt that stands in any court. i wonder if chanting "From the river to the sea, Israel will be free" is fine?

this is the problem, apparently some cant accept a bit of middle ground, discuss nuances. you must be anti-Palestine and pro-Israel in everything they do. on the other side there some groups flip that 180deg seemingly for the sake of it.

I'll still be voting for my British-Palestinian MP at the next election, or maybe I better check with Suella first?

Whilst your take may well be spot on, I think the Home Secretary's letter actually is worth highlighting (whatever you or I may think of her).

And to whoever chastised the OP for starting a new thread for it, rather than posting on the main Israel thread - he can't - he's thread banned from it.
MODS - Pls merge it into the main thread

On the other hand, the phrase ”Islamists and other racists” seems ambiguous. Or provocative.

Our country really f*cked up when it created the state of Israel didn't it? Imagine how different the world would be if we'd found them a homeland somewhere in Europe or America instead, or we'd all just learnt to live in harmony again after the war. I dunno, but you can't help thinking that all this Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism wouldn't have arisen without Israel as the lightning rod.

I will be at the Clock Tower on Saturday to show my support for the people of Palestine although I suspect reading the witterings of our racist, homophobic Home Secretary, that the police will remove the group which has gathered there for many years under one of those "you can't say anything the government doesn't like or agree with" banning orders.

Just a quick reminder of the events of WW2. Six million jews murdered by the nazis, they were transported to gas chambers from all over Europe, do you really think that they would have taken up the offer of going back to a European country where the population had only recently served them up to the Gestapo. This is precisely the reason for the 'Exodus' to Israel

'but you can't help thinking that all this Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism wouldn't have arisen without Israel as the lightning rod' yes maybe

As a spinger owner as well the only critique I have is, why keep her on the lead ? She needs to run ( or swim ) !
Sadly she is now completely deaf. She's 12 years old and has lost her spring. She loves swimming but would get in trouble quickly, head says yes body says no. At one point I had to reel her in. She still loves our swimming pool.

The only thing with her loving water my caravan stunk of wet dog for the week :ROFLMAO:
