I always felt he needed a chance under Potter - I was wrong. Absolutely out of his depth, looked scared of going into tackles or the ball - as an overweight, unfit 50+year old, one footed crap footballer I felt I could have put in a better stint.
Compare to Sarmiento who looked hungry, exciting not scared to run at players.
Love to know what Connolly has done to be behind Locadia.

He must have done something in training to get minutes so fair play to him for that.
He tried tonight, but there was a telling moment - he backed off from a very decent pass from Cucurella, after calling for it.
I don’t think he really wants the responsibility of getting the ball.
We are not good enough to carry someone like that.
Tonight has to be the end.

Might have well played with 10 men for the last 20 minutes.
He was just awful, I’d rather have played Steele up front for the last 20 minutes.
I know he cost a lot of money, I just can’t see why he’s anywhere near the first team.

I don't suggest that he is some sort of super finisher but he would have buried the ones that Maupay missed

He just wasn’t what we needed when that sub was made. All our good football evaporated when Locadia came on. Poor touch, poor positioning, and very much looked like a player that hasn’t been involved for a long time. Should have brought Mac Allister on.

Yes, this was the sub he should have made.

No justification for bringing Locadia on, he's had enough chances and will never make it for us

Maybe, but I’d imagine he would have been at least 10 yards away from where Maupay had his chances, wandering around looking somewhat out of his depth.

Felt sorry for him being thrown on. So far off the pace but hardly a surprise. Maupay won’t score a goal but at least he gave the team some shape. That disappeared after Locadia came on. Not a dig at Locadia, who was never going to be up to speed, but the substitution.

Bringing on Locadia was simply a message from Potter to Barber/Ashworth/Bloom/Recruitment team.

The message was - “Maupay couldn’t hit a barn door with a banjo tonight and this is all I have left in the locker. Sort it out FFS”.

I have to say I was quite surprised to see Locardia come on and in place of Maupa was an even bigger surprise

Can't let go?

I'd have hoped we'd have let go by now.

What the **** has Mac Allister done wrong. I thought he was playing alright before getting dropped. Certainly would have him in place of Locardia all day long.

Worried for Aaron. Not been seen since people last had the chance to bully him, hope he is ok.

As for Locadia I have seen him score at various levels and he is a natural goal scorer. Unfortunately that is all, every other part of his game is just not at this level.

Connolly has had more than enough chances. Needs to sort out his attitude and get back to playing football. He needs to drop down to the championship on loan and start scoring goals again.

That was definitely Potter making a point to Ashworth & Bloom…
