Showed character but it's the least he could do after that awful mistake at the death. The repercussions of having to play extra time with Citeh on Wednesday will be grim, what little chance we had now most probably gone.

Yeh. I think we'll seriously just target the Leeds game

I expect some funky selections and a resounding thumping at the Etihad

Yep, I thought he was done after his gaffe, but he showed guts. That shoot-out performance from us will live long in the memory - not just his four saves but two of the worst pens I've ever seen from us.

Me too, I would take a 3-0 defeat if offered.

They won't let us off that lightly i'm afraid.

I expect to see us dizzy and half looking ready to puke after 70 or so minutes of trying to chase after a light blue blur.

That's what happened last time we played them anyway, and we were a better side then than we are now

I think some refs may have pulled him up for moving too early, but think that law should be changed anyway as it's too subjective.

Yes he dropped a clanger.

But wow. What a response. What a man, what balls. Loved how he thumped the badge after he saved.

I’ve not seen that many saves in one shot out before.

You are such a hypocrite. Everything Ryan did you attack. You then compliment a keeper who made an error far worse than Ryan has done since his first couple of games at the club

As far as I could tell his back foot was just about on the line each time the ball was struck. One may have been boarder line, but think he would've saved it anyway as it was the one closest to him on his right side (2nd penalty).

Eh. I criticised Ryan because there was a long term issue where nearly every shot on target equals a goal being conceded. I used to think this was just me, as only a few of us raised it here. Then the stats started to come in to back up this view. So absolutely not personal, this is elite football. He wasn’t performing.

I’m complimenting Steele because he made such a horrendous clanger BUT had the balls and courage to stand up and be counted and redeemed himself spectacularly in the shoot out. I don’t see how you could argue that. Four saves is incredible.

Okay. Just ignore the rubbish you imagined you said and focus on what you would have said about Ryan if he had played tonight and done what Steele did. And then realise you are a hypocrite.

Thats not being hypocritical... When did Ryan save 4 penalties then?

You’re comparing Matty Ryan who has had seasons with us, he’s had an abundance of opportunities and an unchallenged first team spot. How many times has Jason Steele played? He’s still starting his career. Give him some credit.

He is 30. Older than Ryan. My issue isn't with Steele. It is with you being sanctimonious about supporting Albion and the manager while attacking players like Ryan and Propper

He’s ****ing lucky we didn’t have VAR I reckon. Off his line for 3 of them.

anyway, who cares. Palace in R4 please. Oh, right. [emoji23][emoji23]

He had part of his foot on the line when the ball was struck for all four. I thought he was charging them down, which is a pet hate of mine, so I rewound it and checked. Foot on line when ball was struck for all four.

“Attacking” please, I’ve said nothing personal or hateful. I can support Albion and not rate a player. I remind you that the stats back me up on Ryan anyway, so there’s not really an argument on that.

Okay. So you ignore all my comments. You come on here criticising any anti Potter comment. Again not an attack on him just a comment. But when you comment on players, it is fine. You are a hypocrite
