I wouldn't say it's shit (I reserve that for Aussie Rules football), but I'd rather watch any level of football over a rugby match if given the choice.

dreadful game .

6 nations is the worst , shown on nearly all pub screens to empty pubs containing perhaps a sprinkling of plastics who claim to love rugby but prob dont even have a club side or even know the rules.

Q:Why don't rugby fans celebrate wildly like football fans do for a goal ?

A:Because no one gives a sh_t

Have you ever been to the Brewers or Elephant and Castle in Lewes when an England game is on?

Dougal, if you've only seen england rugby matches from twickenham on tv, then you have a point about not celebrating, the atmostphere there is shit. But go to a premiership match and the passion and celebrations would rival anything at a footie match .. fact!

No, rugby is a very entertaining game and is far more exciting to watch than football. The wide range of skills needed throughout a team means it isn't so one-dimensional.

As a neutral I can sit down and watch, say, Leicester v London Irish, and really enjoy it, whereas I wouldn't change the channel to watch something like Liverpool v Man U.

I have always hated Rugby. I used to walk off the pitch at school when we were forced to play it and had to run round the pitch as punishment :D

Horses for courses.

Mrs DTG hates football and loves Rugby - probably comething to do with Johhny Wilkinson's thighs:rolleyes:

I like both, although after the shite that is served up to us every saturday I am coming around to her way of thinking.

It's a bit of a problem with me i'm afraid. There is something deeply irratating about Rugby fans. Don't know what it is - just something about the bloke in the pub with his rugby shirt tucked into his jeans.

They are the people in the world that i dislike most.

Oh, and of course paedophiles, rapists and Formula One fans.

Formless nonsense for the fat kids who couldn't get inthe football team, now over egged and presented as manly and fantastic.

Only to the gullible.
