Putting the work "like" in a sentence, where it doesn't belong.

e.g. "I was, like, going to buy it, but..."

What is like going to buy it.
Were you going to borrow it? hire it? steal it?

grrr.
you've set me off now.

A weird one I've noticed in a friend and written by someone on here.

He's instead of his, and vice versa.

i.e. spoken: "That's he's car." (meaning that's his car)

Sounds bizarre I know but read/heard it more than a few times now.

Maybe just me but it riles me up when people mispronounce 'Calippo' as either 'Calypso' or (worse) 'CAlippo'. Admittedly this was more of an issue when I sold ice-creams for a living.

I've got loads of mates who text me that don't seem to be able to use we'll and you'll.

eg "we're meet at 7 tonight and your have a great night "

You wouldn't say that, so it sounds really weird.

Newbury, Berkshire.
Not so much a word, but as far as pronounciation is concerned, the high rising terminal, or Australian questioning intonation, especially when the sentence ends with " y' know ? ", and uttered by a certain Mr Ricky Ponting.

Oh, you're not alone FC: it completely does my head in too!

And don't get me started on the "AHHHHHH LOOK" that Aussie cricketers (& now a few of our own) use to start an answer or statement with. It's on a par with all that talking about yourself in the 3rd person bollox.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! :tantrum:
