LEON KNIGHT - the end?

He could have put Knight in midfield instead of Mayo or at least found a place for him on the bench, but to leave him out of the squad alogether? Surely he will go In January if this was not down to injury which in my opinion will be a great shame. :nono:

A great shame indeed. But then if his heart is not in it, then we would be better flogging him (not in the whipping sense).

I for one, hope that he will turn a corner.....

Could just be tactical. Mayo's in midfield as the defensive guy to go alongside Carpenter.

But why not in the squad? that is very strange....

Sounds like a resonable reason to me.

Should imagine its a done deal, possibly player exchange, as soon as the Bank Holiday is over

Hang on. We have very few players fit and able to play. And he leaves Knight out of the SQUAD?!

It can't just be tactical.

If McGhee keeps his job I think he will go, if McGhee goes then Leon will stay. If he does leave I reckon he will go to Reading. Steve Coppell knows what he is about and how to get the best out of strikers, as he proved when he was our manager.

If your face don't fit and all that...

Shame really as he has great talent but he needs to move somewhere where fans and management will appreciate him.

I dont think so!

Here's a player who can't score in the Championship so why would Coppell want him for the Premiership?

Tactical? MM can't even find the word in the dictionary. Time to go and run a pub, Mr McGhee.

What's the point of playing Knight? His performance on Saturday showed that he wasn't bothered, McGhee's absolutely right to leave out someone who doesn't give 100%.

It's certainly a shock. If he's not injured it has to be the end for him. There's no other way to justify dropping him when there are so many players unavailable. Sad, but I can't read anything else into this other than his time at the albion is finished.:(

And if we lose(which-god forgive me for saying- is probable) NSC is going to be a maelstrom tonight/tomorrow...

I personally think that in the right team with the right manager, Leon would be a top Championship striker. You need strength in depth in the Prem and Leon wouldn't cost much to buy.

Who though? He fell out with the youth team coaches at Chelsea; with Macari at Huddersfield, with Turner at Wednesday and now with McGhee. For all his ability, there aren't going to be many Championship managers willing to take a chance on someone so temperamental.

Let's face it, unless this is injury, then he's gone. To have slipped behind Joe Gatting in the pecking order shows just how severe the fall-out with MM has reached.

He looked like he couldn't care less on Saturday, and maybe that was the final straw.

P.s. I'm not criticising Gatting - he looks a good prospect - but Knight shouldn't be behond him on ability, so it has to be on attitude.

Thanks Leon, the goals in your first season were excellent, and the play-off Final was one of the truly GREAT days following the Albion, but I'm afraid it's all over now.
