Should we give Leon Knight a trial?

No thanks.

We're moving onwards and upwards, his career seems to be going nowhere but downwards.

He REALLY doesn't score goals, and certainly isn't the 20 goal striker we require. Some people on this forum are incredible, simply incredible.

Definitely and if he is any good then offer him a pay per appearance contract which can be terminated at any time

Does he?

I mean does he??

Do you have trouble with your tenses??

He DID score goals. In the same way that I DID go to primary school. I USED to be 21.

I WENT to the Goldstone.

I USED to fancy Johanna MacGarry at secondary school.

I DON'T now. I DON'T go to the Goldstone.

Leon Knight does not CURRENTLY score goals. He HASN'T scored goals for some time.

Christ's sake - what next??

Let's pick Boycott for England shall we - I mean he SCORES runs....

NO HE f***ing DEOSN'T!!!

Not ANYMORE.

So, what are you trying to say, exactly :)

Yes, do it Gus

He'd make a superb 4th/5th choice behind Murray, (hopefully) another new signing, Barnes and maybe Holroyd.

Surely if he could get himself fit and show the right attitude, he could be rather useful in coming off the bench every now and then!

After that, who knows? Maybe he could even get a run in the first team and recapture some of that amazing promise he showed few years ago.

But the ego must go first and foremost.

He scores goals, and tbh that's what we need the most right now

No, he used to score goals.

When was the last successful season?

Ok, he's come on the site and has put his own account on things and very noble it is too, but some players careers tale off at an early age, this is one of those cases.

Gus has no time to give out sympathy contracts.

I think you've already spotted the major flaws in your argument yourself.

As my sister used to say, 'Talk about trying to push piss uphill...'

Pork pie land.
I would be very happy for him to return - IF Gus wanted him.

There can be little doubt that he is the best striker we have had since BZ - it is just a problem with the demons in his head that need to be managed.

With the football that Gus is getting the Team playing, he should get plenty of good service on the deck.

There's only one reason for giving him a trial, so that he can fail miserably and then people will stop saying "Leon Knight, he's alright".

its pretty amazing anyone would even suggest this. absolutly not. if you think he's reformed and turns out to be a nice chap after all, go down the pub with him. He should be looking to show some humility and go play at BSP or L2 at stick at it what ever comes for a couple of years before his career is over.

as for the goals, the raw numbers hide the reality that he didnt score that many from open play in the first place. he had a good 6 mth run but its been medicore to poor since.

How so?

Knight: 1 in 3.

Murray: 1 in 2.
