How about Mark McCammon, or "The Beast" ?

95 career starts, 52 sub appearances, 18 goals.

Impressive stuff.

1 Ade Akinbiyi Burnley 12
2 Cameron Jerome Cardiff 12
3 Marlon King Watford 12
4 Kevin Doyle Reading 11
5 Dave Kitson Reading 11
6 Dean Ashton Norwich 10
7 Carl Cort Wolverhampton 9
8 Rob Hulse Leeds 9
9 Andrew Johnson Crystal Palace 9
10 Steven Kabba Sheff Utd 9
11 Neil Shipperley Sheff Utd 9
12 Ashley Young Watford 9
13 Sambegou Bangoura Stoke 8
14 David Healy Leeds 8
15 Steve Howard Luton 8

So for a team in the bottom 3 is 5 goals so bad?

time and time again players go to new clubs and immediately score.
Knight has proved mainly due to attitude he did not want to play for us. last year after his first falling out with mm he initially returned a differant player but then reverted back to the lazy uncommitted player we've been used to. this sadly reflects on knight not mm or brighton.
perhaps he will succeed at swansea, i hope he does, because then when he is sold to a bigger club we get 50% of the fee. on reflection selling him could be the best business done this season

So what does jakes 45 games and 3 goals say?

He hasn't played 45 games for us.

This season

14 starts and 10 subs, 2 goals

Last season

1 start and 9 subs, 1 goal

Year before

1 start 9 subs.

So he has made 16 starts, hardly had the 60 odd Knight had at this level.

Leon has played a season and half at championship level and scored only 9 goals. When he was with us in old Divison two he scored 26.
It seems to me, that is his level. When Swansea go up, which they probably will now, he will continue to struggle at championship level, you see.

5 goals in half a season, so 10 is a decent estimate for the whole season?

One more than Virgo last season who in the words of many "kept us up"?

Had he got 10goals this season i would have been fairly happy. But again Virgo played half a season as a striker, the other half as a defender.

And scored half of his goals from cb or set pieces

Hardly "half".

He spent the majority of the season up front.
