Finally got the details of my sons U12 match through and it is at a really annoying time - 10:30. Means we should be done by 12 and then will check traffic and see whether we jump in the car down to the AMEX which will be a 100 mile dash.

Don't mind missing the first few minutes but will draw the line if we are going to miss the first half. The one week I desperately wanted his game to be early or late so that my decision was made for me and they chuck it in the middle.

Looks pretty humdrum for Falmer at 2pm.

Coldean
Victor Osimhen vs Leicester City

2 goals
12 passes
100% pass accuracy
6 shots
2 key passes
1 big chance created
4/4 successful dribbles
1 aerial won

If we have anyone with those sort of stats, I'd like to know where Potter's been hiding him

Why have you clouded my post with facts? Every time I tuned in to watch the game, some napolian striker skied a shot...I had assumed it was this bloke

As I don't have any albion friends or family that don't have season tickets the current scheme is useless to me.

The exchange works but so far is 100% not open.

I've pretty much made the decision now to give up the season ticket at the end of the season. Shame as I've had it since before the Amex but once the decision is made less of a wrench than I thought.

Me too.

And for exactly the same reasons.

Seems we have reached a peak in terms of attendances at the moment. The club's changing of rules and regulations definitely haven't helped this season in terms of people making decisions like you and others. I know a few myself who can't make all games and now questioning whether it's worth having a season ticket. They certainly never would have questioned it before.

I cannot help but wonder if the , on the face of it , bright idea of squeezing the seats up to put more in may yet backfire on the club . As it is undoubtedly the main reason for the exchange not being open ( more supply , less demand ) . Thus effectively removing the alternative to the 20 pound charge . Also it was with interest i noted that the exchange was listed as a benefit of being a STH in an email i received today from the club with no mention of the words " when open ".
The other point of the email seemed to be pointing out that as a season ticket holder you could buy 2 guest tickets for the 2 upcoming home games . Presumably these would be from the yet unsold corner blocks or odd singles perhaps the club hoping to sell enough of these to be able to get the exchange open . Maybe it would be better to allow STHs to access the exchange early as people might be more inclined to buy tickets for their guests in prime areas close to them ?
Please PB feel free to use this idea as it might well keep both those STHs looking to sell and those looking to buy happier .

I really do not understand the clubs stance on the exchange. It’s clearly commercially driven but its flawed.

The simple notion that the none STL will likely want to sit together with people they know or have a preference on stand has been lost and will impact uptake.

It’s easily addressable by simply putting a premium on pairs / certain stand vs standard rate on the singles for the less desirable seats. But importantly put all seats on offer at the same time.

Reducing the Albion+ fee once you have purchased a match day ticket would also be sensible and more desirable.

They could even trial this and look at the impact.

Does the ST person buying the tickets accrue any points as such ? Or does the person they are bought on behalf of get them ?
To clarify I mean loyalty points to get you higher up the order for away tickets etc

Ever since the club decided to start booting out Season Ticket holders who don't attend enough, I've had the impression that they see season ticket holders as an inconvenience. Everything is now made as difficult as possible.

Much better to sell all tickets at full match day prices, I suppose.

Nope. They see season ticket holders who only attend half a dozen games or so and try and fill their seat in their absence as unauthorised secondary ticket agents who prevent equitable opportunity for all fans to purchase tickets when they are being unused.

This has never been allowed up until this season when the club put in a system to allow it.

I can why they would see season tickets not attending regularly as an inconvenience absolutely, and I would agree

The club have about 23/24K season ticket holders - most of which pay heavily discounted prices for their tickets and this year there are more of them than ever before so if this is their strategic plan then its failing miserably.

PS: Hardly ever mentioned in the discussion around the cost of sharing season tickets formally with Albion + members its that for a couple of weeks around season ticket renewal time the club, given Covid , decided to offer EVERY season ticket holder the chance to change the name on their ticket. You could literally transfer your ticket to anyone else if you so wished (a family member, a mate etc) if it was no longer convenient to attend on a regular basis but you still wanted to keep the seat within your social group...For free.

Passing on a ticket is a different issue and not my point. If the tickets were passed on then the ST would be "attending".

The point I realised that Season Ticket holders were an inconvenience were when they were booted out of their seats for not attending enough. Did they even get a partial refund for the period after the booting ? ???

What would you say to people on the waiting list (at the time) who were willing to attend and support the team live but couldn’t due to this?

I'd say perhaps the club could try and find out why a season ticket holder wasn't attending and see if it was temporary ( health / childcare issues ? ) or a permanent situation, and if it was permanent then if they offered the ST a pro-rata refund then there might be an available seat.
