Tau played well against Man City but looked scared to take any risks tonight. I’d like to see him run at players more rather than play safe passes.

Agreed. As evidenced by me shouting "get in the box" every time he had the ball near the penalty area.

What a squad we have what a shame that for many now playing time is going to be limited until safety is secured...this Everton game is tasty by the way.

Yep, and it's Burns' fault when it gets dark too!

But whilst everyone switched off, he had a view across the whole pitch was closest to the player who scored.....

He has to take the largest share of the blame, I’m afraid.

He did okay other than that.

Absolutely. I wasn't challenging you, just amused by occasional posts on here thinking he is some kind of saviour. He is a rotten striker I'm afraid.
And yes, I have no idea why we signed him.

GOAL! Oh well. Lots of positives.

Fair enough, we're violently agreeing.

Good for the Poles to get a run out against a good standard Prem team and plenty of potential there. Only played for 90 mins and not 120. No fans at the final anyway. That's my positives done.

I thought we played quite well I was impressed with the two polish lads particularly Moder he looked like he slotted stright in, upfront Tau and Zakiri seemed to play off each other quite well although I thought Tau looked tired towards the end but that was Zakiris best showing so far, Walton made one good save and Gross played well shame we lost concentration right at the end but hey ho we move on Villa next night night all

Think lost agree with you and share this. Went better than I expected and put up a better show than the 1st team earlier in the season there I guess! Lots of positives for the future - pleasing.

Agreed.
But, he can only do that in space and that can only happen if he plays deeper.
I knew this would happen- sometimes a player comes in and you know he is being shoehorned. Same with Ali J. You can't just use stats. You have to actually look at the player. It just feels like they've gone "he scores the odd goal, stick him up front". He is so not a striker. It's not even debatable. He has nothing, not a single quality you'd associate with a striker. BUT he is clearly a decent AM/winger.
If we are to use him effectively he needs to come off the bench in games where the teams are spread, where he can run at tired defences. That is what he can offer at this level.
But as a striker? We are much better than that now. Might as well play Connolly.

Not sure if people were watching the same game as me on some of the comments.

Negatives
If we wanted to win that game I don't understand why Tau stayed on he was out of his depth and the manager should have seen that and then to leave him up by himself was not good.
We have conceded from a set piece in the most stupid way again.
None of the team looked like scoring except Swiss Andy

Positives
No injuries
Swiss Andy and the Polish Lads looked good
We are out of the cup and can concentrate on the league and developing the new boys once we have climbed a bit more

He speaks highly of you....

You were pleased when he set up the winner last week though?

Sure he was at fault (IMO), but hate is a bit strong.....

If we got to the final. Imagine?
After all these years. All this nonsense.

The idea of a cup run was nice. But that would be heartbreaking.

So we move on! :)

Walton looks out to the whole goal area. He's more culpable than Burn, imo. And then he didn't come for it. Useless.

TBH I’m not actually bothered about the result, but I am concerned at the way we keep switching off at the end of the half so frequently. Did it against Newport twice (got away with one at the end of extra time), against Blackpool, against Fulham and again tonight. Hope it isn’t becoming a habit.

Yeah, but he IS right footed.
Europe loves an inverted fullback. Not so much here.

I guess I don't get why Karbownik, being 2 footed and has played most of his career at LB is preferred at RWB. And a more right footed player is played at LWB. I'm sure Potter has his reasons though!
