Apart from Joe Leeming, there is no-one there from before 1960.

So that's the FA Cup run side of 1932-33 (played in a record-equalling nine FA Cup rounds that season) record-breaking side of 1955-56, the Div 3 (South)-winning side of 1957-58 - all missing. No Ernie Wilson, fo crying out loud.

While accepting everything is, of course, subjective, I agree with Brovion on another thread that there is far too much emphasis on the Withdean era.

Sums it up for me and those claiming the banner is in some way an embarrassment to the club need to get real. It's a banner, most away fans probably don't give two sh*ts who our 'legends' are let alone what Leon does on twitter

As usual mass daily mail-esque overreaction and witch hunting

This is nothing to do with the away fans really is it? A lot of our fans like myself do care about the images up there, I think its a great touch, and the vast majority of fans want Knight taken down now.

As great a moment as that was, we have had enough other special moments and characters in our history to be able to replace that moron with someone else more worthy.

Like most, I thought Leon was great when he was scoring goals here but he completely disrespected the club and a decent man in Mcghee when he left and his recent behaviour is just vile.

Very surprised John Byrne is not on there. One of most gifted and stylish players of all time and a guy who has continued to support the club in retirement.

Please don't confuse the opinions of NSC as reflecting the 'vast majority of fans' as it does not. If this was representative then Hammond would be getting roundly booed next Friday (which simply won't happen)

Personally I can't see why everyone is getting so worked up about this. It's a prime example of the NSC mentality with everyone baying for blood and blowing everything out of proportion.

That's why I compare it to the daily mail as you get posts and posts of 'outrage' very similar to the ridiculous overreaction to the Jonathan Ross and Russell brand incident

The reality is Leon set up a night to 'expose hoes' and within 2 minutes his posts were deleted and account suspended. He might have been arrested but who even cares most people have no idea who he is

There are some good cases for others to be represented on the wall and to be fair you could argue all day and circle the stadium with other worthy candidates.

The reality is the club choose to put him up there for his recent contribution to our success and now it is up. Is it really worth all the mob posts and hysterical outrage on here over an incident most would not have known happened without reading about it on here

Maybe its because this falls so close to the hammond 'outrage' but reading through this board recently it is raging with drama queens

If it was a single incident I may well agree, but it really isn't. Knight has consistently shown himself to be thoroughly reprehensible on a number of occasions now and has had a few choice words regarding the club too.
The calls to remove him are not a recent thing at all, people have been disappointed since his picture was put up. This is a spur of the moment heated reaction, a growing number have requested his removal for over a year now.

You call it 'mob outrage'.

I call it many individuals coming up with their own moral perspective and coming up with their own answer; finding his behaviour indefenisble. I think the reaction has been quite measured.

There's loads of space - why not fill the wall right round to the steps/lifts?

Think we have to remember its not a legends wall but pieces of art celebrating key moments and character of Albion.

if its for "moments" rather than legends, Virgos goal at swindon is justified, shirely? or Cullips against Chesterfield to seal the championship.

Exactly. It's a shame as that season Knight scored the goals that took us up and the decisive pen at Cardiff. If he's replaced it has to be someone who was playing for us then. Virgo's winner is the major option - but that would look a little odd IMO...

Its the most representative that we have.

And your comment about the views of NSC on Hammond could barely be more wrong. See poll:
Dean Hammond - Will you boo him?

The image of Cullip hodling up the trophy seems the obvious answer.

Yes - good point. That fits perfectly. And he was my fav player by a long way :)

OGH. 13 seasons. Was with us from Gillingham to Withdean during the most successful era in the clubs history and ultimately played at the Amex too. Won 4 trophies with us, which is a record for any Albion player. Famed for being the fastest player in the football league in his youth, to being an invaluable utility player in his latter years.

How can it be anyone else??? True legend.

This very much so, OGH
