Anyone got any experience of this? Been quoted £500 and have the Home Information Pack to buy too for £350. Does this sound about right or a bit on the expensive side just for selling?
Also, is that fee for conveyancing? Don't forget the Estate Agent will take commission from the sale - NEVER pay more than 1.5%, shop around if necessary - so there are more costs to come.
The £500 is just solicitors fees for selling, inc tax. It's a further 350 for the HIP. The agent says that only one person has requested to see a HIP and therefore it is a waste of money but compulsory! None of the estate agents offer HIPs in the area (Bridgend, South Wales) so we have to get it done through the solicitor really.
When selling (and not buying again) it seems a lot of money to pay a solicitor as there are no searches or anything, just overseeing the legal document exchange.
