Falmer, soon...
Do you think we could move away from these terms as a society? They are scornful generalisations used to divide and de-humanise.

Cant we just call people being dicks, dicks?

I have right wing views, left wing views, socialist views, green views, anti-green views, capitalist views and many other views inbetween.

I think 99.9% of politicians are self-serving scumbags and I'm yet to find one who has the interest of others at heart who can make a difference.

There's an element of 'divide and conquer' when forcing people to take a side, I agree. I'm waiting for someone to form the 'Common Sense Party'. I'd join it happily!

I would imagine everyone thinks their views are common sense !
I also think it’s too easy to slag off politicians. They also have a mixture of views but just like everyone else in their jobs, they are constrained. We all have bosses to answer to. I honestly think we need to recognize those constraints or we end up with a Donald Trump telling us everyone is corrupt.

Left, right, liberal. All amount to the same thing; profiteering and power. It’s just that different arms of the same elite use different classes of voter to put them into power.
They’re all working for the same lobbyists and corporations and when you reach the level of multi billionaire, as long as they keep taxes down, a party could introduce hunting poor people on horseback and they’d get funding and support.
Who we vote for makes little difference in the big scheme.

Caroline Lucas? She's managed to attract former Labour, Liberal and Tory voters

There are a couple of Common Sense Parties knocking around Europe - they're always far-right parties whose whole ethos relies on division.

It's "common sense" which has brought us to this political mess - people trusting their own uneducated instincts and those of pub bores (including pub bore politicians) rather than the research and learnings of "so-called experts".

The I Reckon, Right, No No, Hear me out Party would smash the next general election.

I can't stand the whole 'left' and 'right' nonsense. It seems to be a tag given to people in any given situation. Absolutely tedious.

Can we move away from it? Doubtful.
