To be fair Leeds had a cracking team in the early 2000’s as well. Harry Kewell, Viduka, Yeboah, Rio, Alan Smith.

They were looking a solid Champions League team for a while, think they may have reached a quarter or semi final. Really spectacular how they declined from there.

They had some very good players but they still only qualified for the Champions League once, after finishing 3rd in the 99-00 season, the same season they got to the semi finals of the UEFA Cup losing to Galatasaray. They then got to the semi of the champions league in 00-01 but lost to Valencia.

They would have qualified for two more but we only had 3 places in the Champions League so their two fourth place finishes only got them into the UEFA Cup which I am sure everyone agrees is a massive shame, as is the fact that 4 seasons later they were cruelly relegated from the Premier League which hasn't been the same since.

I tried to watch Football Focus on BBC1 yesterday, that lasted for about 5 mins before I had to switch it off. Leeds Leeds blah blah blah Leeds Leeds , now over to Elland Road, Leeds supporters what does it mean to be finally back in the Prem after all these years? Back to studio, Lawrenson w**king off about them, now lets bring in some former Leeds players to say how wonderful this is because Leeds deserve to be back in the top league.
Oh how I really, really want to see them crash and burn next season.

True, however Yeboah was there from 95-97.

Remember reading after the champions league semi defeat that they were offered £20m by Atletico for Viduka and didn’t take it!

No surprise at all if you use money you don't have.

A bit like Dad's Army, we're going to need volunteers next season to do a patrol of Lancing before our matches with them, checking if the Bielsa bucket and binoculars pop up in the long grass.
