BBC Radio Leeds reporting that the club "might" be going into administration in the next 7 days.

.. and reporting that the points deduction will be this season if they do.

From the FA handbook (it's a riveting read.....)

14. SPORTING SANCTIONS
14.1 If an Insolvency Event shall occur in relation to any Club that Club shall be deducted 10 points. The deduction shall be made forthwith on the happening of the first Insolvency Event.

14.2 Where the Club takes or suffers an Insolvency Event:-
14.2.1 at any time during the Playing Season, the points deduction shall apply immediately;
14.2.2 outside the Playing Season, the points deduction shall apply in respect of the following season with the effect that such Club starts that Season on minus 10 points.

“Playing Season” means the period between the date on which the first league fixture in the Competition is played each year until the date on which the last league fixture in the Competition is played. For Clubs participating in play off matches this does include the period when play off matches are played

and it says in the papers today that they may have to start next season behind closed doors or points deduction or massive fine following a pitch invasion on saturday. Could they be the first team to start on more than -10 points

The -10 would apply for this season should they go into administration today (according to my reading of the rules).

Bloody cheating northern monkeys!!

I would imagine that administration has been discussed within the club to see if they could take the 10 point deduction now before next season, I would also assume they've been told to f*** right off, so I'd be suprised if they went into admin at all.

technically, they are not down yet, I wonder if that makes any difference.

Whether you like the idea or not Leeds would be stupid not to go into administration before the end of this season, it's just playing by and to the rules.

The main reason why people don't like the idea is because it's Leeds.

sounding stupid but im assuming its gona take more than a week to do the paperwork etc to go into administration, surley this would mean it occured after the end of season or is it when they announce they are going into administration the deduction occurs

Didn't Starry or another Leeds fan on here say they were out of debt now?

No. I don't like the idea as it is blatently unfair - the points deduction is a PUNISHMENT. If a team in Leed's situation were to be allowed to take it now, it would serve as no punishment whatsoever.

Having said that, I blame the rules rather than Leeds. Any club would do the same.

If they are allowed to take it this year, I hope they win 6-0 on Saturday and Hull lose 4-0. Now that really would be ironic.

For me, I don't really give a toss what season the points get deducted from, I was just wondering whether it made a difference if they were not actually relegated or not. There could be a sub-clause which states that if they are already relegated when the points are dedicated, that it carries forward to the next season.

I don't discriminate between Leeds or any other team, the only team I care about is BHAFC

Yeah, you can't blame them. They are just trying to do what they can for their own club - it is the rules that would be at fault.

with an IVA it can take upto 3 months to set up if they are going for a CVA (company as opposed to individual) then im sure it will push them well into the summer before its sorted

Well the interview gave away nothing. God that bloke needs PR, just blamed everyone else for their problems.

Anywhere - reading between the lines they are trying to smoke out investors before going down the admin route.

That was on the BBC earlier on in the season. I cant believe that relegation into league 1 can swing it that much. Afterall, Luton, Southend or even us didn't go into admin. No, things are a lot murkier at Leeds than meets the eye.

What admin will mean is selling off of assetts. They dont own their ground nor training ground, so assetts means players. Healey, Cresswell, Blae tec will all go. They will be left with youth players etc. Dont put money on Leeds going straight up just yet.....if there is a Leeds
