Leeds v Brighton (the Harding thread)

Sorry to be the killjoy to make some balancing comments :lolol:

much as I loved the reception he got, I don't think he was that terrible - more than a few of the Leeds back 4 deserve as much blame as him.

Thought he looked very composed and confident on the ball, more so than when he was in a Brighton shirt. Cleverly got Dean booked too.

Our superb breaks does expose the one remaining weak part of his game, though, his positional play, where his naiveity still gets him too far away from attackers.

The Leeds fans were always going to have a go at him because no defender is going to come out smelling of roses, but on their phone-in afterwards Eddie Gray and the phone-in presenter were praising his work over the seven games. I think our instalment money is still safe, thankfully :)

I thought two things summed him up.

In first half broke out well at speed beat a man - then passed to chippy

In second half - slideblocked a through ball got up had an easy pass and gave it to Knight.

if he got rid of these stupid mistakes he would be a good player

They were indeed and they never faded throughout the game.

Singing 'Are you Harding in disguise' to the strange mascot was really funny.

I did love the two passes directly to our players. Maybe he forgot who he was actually playing for ?? :lolol: :lolol:

He will improve but needs time, depends how much the Premiership wannabes will give him.

Yeah Tom, incredible isn't it, Leeds have a few messageboard loudmouths who turn on their own players at the drop of a hat - I'd never have forecast that :jester: :lolol:

They'll be the same ones that reach their own conclusion about a player then, rather than act as unpaid PR for whatever the manager's views happen to be at any given time :p

I cant believe that weve had two mascot unveilings recently. Phoenix the Rotherbird and Tom the kop cat. I really couldnt handle it if we had a mascot!

Us booing Harding really put him off because he supported and played for Brighton for years, and now everyone at albion hates him. He did deserve it though
:)

I thought he'd been a Leeds fan all his life?
