There is no rule in the football league books that says you take off -15 from the club if the Taxman behaves like a bastard !!

Oh so its that naughty taxmans fault, the same one that had thousands of pounds stolen from which ultimately comes in turn out of everybodies pocket. Still at least you are not blaming the charity which suffered from fraud as well.

What billy_bremner (The real Billy must be turning in his grave, bless him) fails to understand is that even 5 points isn't going to get them promotion.
It will keep them in the play offs and I, for one, hope they get beaten.

In a funny way - the Inland Revenue does seem to have played a big part as they did with Boston.

It was the Inland Revenue that didn't like the CVA, the administrators* had in place.

( * It was also the administrators who decided to then re-sell the club without one ? )

The league have this ruling that football creditors must be paid 100%.

Boston couldn't do that because the Inland Revenue wanted their fair share.

They got relagated two leagues.

Leeds couldn't get their CVA throught because the Inland Revenue again wanted their fair share.

In both case the Inland Revenue weren't behaving like idiots, but perhaps if we want to find fault it's the league ruling regarding football creditors that has helped cause this sorry mess.

We should also be looking at the transparency of ownership of grounds and clubs as well, because I presume the Inland Revenue were anoyed as well about who exactly the creditors were.

I blame the league for all of this, well the football authorities in general. They've created an environment where it's allowed to happen.

Wouldn't it be funny if the arbitration panel said, yes, you can have five points back this season but you have to be relegated a division for the 08/09 season.

Wake up and smell the coffee. Don't let your hatred of Leeds delude what reality is. We went into admin and we got the -10 deducted last season ! PERIOD !
That's got nothing to do with it I thought? But you're the expert and obviously an intelligent chap...

I think the FL f***ed this up from day 1. Leeds exploited a poorly written rule last season for the ten points deduction, and as much as I think Bates is an odious c'unt of the first degree, I would have been livid if we had not done the same.

As for the 15 point deduction, suspect the FL once again has made a balls up. It's a disgrace that the decision is being made in April, as there are clubs who have spent money in January (and not 8p in the £) on a promotion push that they otherwise might not have attempted.

I don't like Leeds for the same reasons that most people don't. But on this issue I suspect the crafty wanker Bates is going to win.

Someone else summed it up perfectly on here (can't be arsed to go through all posts).

IF Leeds are to be given any points back whatsoever, they should be added onto the start of next season. To change the league table now is just not on, and I hope other clubs including us, make a stand!

Won't happen, Leeds paid off all the football creditors.

I seem to be disagreeing with everyone on here over this, but my heart is in exactly the same place.

Unfortunately my head isn't.

That would be another ruling made up on the fly though - exactly what we need to get away from.

There really should be a tongue in cheek smiley. :p
This one doesn't quite cover it imo.

I don,t like Leeds either anymore...............or the way they send their fans on here, (and probably other clubs messageboards), just like they did before the season started, when "representatives" canvassed all the clubs in person with a............. "we,re really nice people you know. we only want our club to be allowed into the football league etc etc." HUH...........! f***ing charmers aren,t they.......? Now they,re in, go on their Waccoe board and take a look at what they think of the rest of us.
Lying, whinging, two-faced Wankers..............the lot of ,em.

But giving them points back during this season, is not exactly a written rule is it?

Either way you have to create a ruling and system, and then stick to it.

Making up a -15 point reduction isn't there either unfortunately and that's why we're in the situation we're in now.

I think you'll find that clubs HAVE been docked points in the past and some given back.

What's happening is the punishment is being reviewed.

(if the rumours are true)

The league have made a right mess of this, if I was chairman of Boston I'd be on the phone to my solicitor.

In the same way as Juventus were given a 30 point penalty last year which was brought back to 15.

That said they were relegated as well

I was thinking more along the lines of Spurs.

Sorry..................but at the time, I don,t remember Spurs AGREEING to the penalty..............or Juventus for that matter..................or ANY OTHER CLUB...!

Football league should agree to return all 15 points but add them to last seasons total (in ithe same way Leeds exploited the loophole last season).
