There is a certain pleasure to be had when a "big" club falls like Leeds, or indeed Forrest, Man City and Sheffield Wednesday in the past. The reason is because it just gives us supporters of less fashionable, smaller teams all a little bit more hope for the future, we could be the team replacing them in the dicsion above, so to speak.

In this instance I feel sorry for most of the fans, and most of the players, they have been royally shafted by Bates.

As for Wise, I know I don't like him, but I don't know why really. He played at the highest level, won trophies, played for Engerland, but why is he so despised? I guess his association with Bates doesn't help. His walk out from Swindon, well, wouldn't you have done the same (not with hindsight of course). And all he is doing now is trying to recover from the bombshell of being taken to a club with no money, no players and -15 points. He has a massive task in front of him, I expect the Leeds fans to get behind their team, it's a shame that they can't instigate a boycott for a few weeks, just to get Bates out.

All in all, I look forward to our normal 4 points off them this season, I will join in with all the chants at Elland Road, and, who knows, if they have a howler of a season, and we have a great season, in 2008/9 we might just be in a division above Leeds United FC. Now without Ken Bates, we really couldn't of dreamed of that, could we?.

well said.... the -15 points was that enforsed by the fa.... if so they sill have to pay the inland revenue.... which will be a lot as mr bates offered them was it 8p in every pound... and still owing most of the squad from last season wages.. wont they have to pay all them off before they can bring new players in

I know exactly why I dont like him.

He brutally assaulted a taxi driver

He punched a team mate in the face while the guy was sleeping, breaking his jaw in the process. Then when the club sacked him for gross misconduct, he decalred it \"a disgrace\", somehow successfully sued them, and got the remainder of his contract paid up.

A nasty, niggly, dangerous little wind-up merchant as a player

and I dont like his FACE.

Those reasons certainly help me to dislike him, but a lot of people have done a lot of things wrong, I'm not one for forgiveness, but there's something else about him that winds me up. You might be right, it might just be his face.

And the fact he clearly suffers horrendously from \"short man syndrome\".

You, sir, are the exception that proves the rule as in evidenced by the amount of goodwill shown towards you.

I worked with Leeds fans and although they were arrogant, there wasn't one I particularly disliked (even my ex)

how do you put up with this?

still I reckon the target this year must be around 55 points to be safe and settle for mid table safety. The squad must be mighty thin right now and I'm not sure that better players will fancy 2 seasons in league 1 and not being sure that they will be paid on time? Is Carole still there?

yes he his still there.

i am not sure what you mean by better players i am more than happy with those we have attracted to the club this summer despite all the off the field drama, dave thompson is staying, casper just signed for three years today, heath and rui both have contracts, prutton, weston and constantine all waited despite having firm offers at other clubs and wil have the deals put to them this week. they waited until now and only have a few days before the season starts so hopefully they stay.

and bevendean - i was born and raised in egypt.

Did you hear about the prang that Denis Wise had in his car ? The geezer that smashed into him went over to exchange insurance details and the first thing Wise said was "I ain't happy" to which the bloke replied "Well which one of the seven dwarfs are you then ?" .
