Seems to be just you who ignores the restrictions the club has to work with in order to be playing at Withdean (and Falmer soon). Which part of 'No turn up and pay on the day' do you struggle with? There are ways to buy tickets up until close to kick off-if you are on the database.

As for your other moan about restricting members to one ticket each-if they'd allowed 2, 3 or 4 per member you'd be moaning about that if your non-member, not on the database friends missed out. It's quite simple for your friends-become a member or buy tickets for another game so they are on the club's database then they won't have the problem again.

See below

The really bad thing in all this is that a women that works with my girlfriend really wanted to take her two boys and their mate, simply couldn't be arsed with all the bullshit, rang Pompey..f***ing pompey and got 4 tickets piece of piss,

It doesn't need to be as difficult as the Albion make it. Why do we need a database and memberships to buy tickets at home? People should be about to phone up or go online and get a ticket no questions asked.

Just out of interest how much were the tickets?

I think the problem is when trying to encourage new fans they're hardly going to be enticed (aside from the exceptional value for money and stunning football on display) when they're told they have to fill in a load of forms to actually be allowed to buy a ticket. You would think for a team that never sells out we'd just let people who want to give the club money buy a ticket when they come into the shop.

I can see the logic here as others have said with Leeds fans in our section, but really how many of them are going to come to Brighton days before the game to buy a ticket in person?

Sorry, but exactly how many forms do you need to complete! Is it loads or is it just one?

What makes you think they are going to enjoy the experience of watching Portsmouth unless they are supporting the opposition!!!

edit: I should add 'as opposed to not enjoying the withdean experience'

If you were a young child what would you rather see? Premiership football or League 1?

It's funny how these 'mates' find themselves free for the big games!

I'd love the club to be able to be in a position where you have to buy at least two home tickets in addition to a big game ticket. Sadly we have are not in a position to do that. :-(

No it's not. It's because people want to go to games that have a bit of meaning. Hartlepool at home has absolutely zero appeal, Leeds on the other hand slightly more.

If you "true blue gunner gooner super seagull haven't missed a youth reserve team game in 50 years" fans are going to get narked because people can't be f***ed with no mark games but can with bigger games then you are going to be constantly pissed off when we get to Falmer.

What is the problem. Do we really want leeds fans spread around the ground, of course not. Hence the database. It's not foolproof but it's better than the alternative. The things people whinge about on here is unbelievable.

some of us are on your database though. and buying a ticket for a non game the week or two before to enable the superfans to get a ticket is common practice for some of our away mob. it is a shame albion fans, however genuine or not they may be miss out.

Tell the club about this and ask them to justify Ken Brown's salary in response. Of course Withdean is far from ideal and that plus the prices puts off a lot of people in the first place, but your example as the original poster puts it is completely a case of the club shooting themselves in the foot.

Like I said, it isn't foolproof but it's better than nothing.

I believe you did not understand me correctly. I am all for selling out Withdean. Even to once a season glory boys but I just wish we could up the ante for the bigger games and make them pay for the pleasure. But as stated we are not able to do that. Mores the pity.

So what are you suggesting that we have price tiers for certain games?

Because in reality in this division I can't see how it would work.

Cat A: Leeds, Charlton, Millwall (maybe?), potential money spinning cup tie??

Cat B: All the rest?

The ticket office struggle as it is, throwing this curve ball in for two or three games would send them into a right tailspin.

Anyhoo, aren't the ticket prices high enough as they are?

On the subject of ticket prices, kudos to Arsenal who are charging a tenner tonight for their game against Liverpool.

Apparently cheapest tickets at Spurs last night were £35!! :wrong:

Aren't there still strict rules regarding us being at Withdean, and having this database, however awkward, makes it easier to police the fans, should we need to?
