i have never claimed to be a proper football fan, or a super fan. i am a stupid, simple man who let his heart rule his head and invested some money in a club i love. would i do it again? not a hope in hell. not ever. not even if my dad owned the club.

I don't give a shit what type of fan you class yourself to be honest - I'm simply seeing as I find.

And I find you to be a sneering hypocritical thug, who is apparently "a stupid simple man", yet seems to know enough about civil law to gloat on here about how your club is going to win its 15 points back in the courts.

If I got a chance to deface ANYTHING at old Trafford I probably would.

I sat in the Stretford end for England v Wales and didn't have so much as a magic marker to hand...:(

I am one of the few people (other than fans of the Yorkshire club) who respect Leeds for what they achieved in the sixties and seventies. Granted, they were nasty under Don Revie's management. But football is not a beauty contest. As Nicky Forster said on the official site today, football is a results business. I couldn't care less if Albion played dirty so long as we won.

The players of Leeds United, ever loyal to Revie as they were, froze out Cloughie after he decided that he was too good for Albion. For that, they got my respect. Great man though Cloughie was, his ego needed to come down from the stratosphere.

I remember with affection players like Terry Cooper, Paul Madeley, Norman Hunter, Billy Bremner, Peter Lorimer, Mick Jones, Allan Clarke and David Harvey. They are the sort of blokes that you would want to be in the trenches with.

All of which said, I love it when the Albion beat Leeds and I will be at Elland Road, later this month, to see us stuff them.

I respected that Leeds team (and I saw them play) but have no respect for the present Leeds club.

the funny thing about leeds is we have played them probably as much as anyone i the league in recent years due to being in the same division as them for 4 years

just a thought. how can leeds expect to win a court case when the people fighting for them such as starry have stated on here that they are fighting for something they dont believe is right. surely all the courts have to do is see things the same way as the leeds defence team and kick them out of court if that is the case. so basically if leeds defence believe they are wrong and the football league think they are wrong then surely the courts will think they are wrong. some of the postings from a supposedly part of the defence team on here should be given to the court as evidence of this.

When Steve Foster and BHA tried to take the FA to court in 1983 a High Court Judge ruled that they and the Football League were autonimous and as such the courts had no power to change any decisions made by those bodies it was up to their own members to put right any apparent wrong doing. So I would think that that sentiment and ruling will prevail and LUFC will be told to approach the FL to reconsider their findings and punishment. If the FL do so and come up with the same punishment that will be the end of the story.

It is not going to court, it is going to an arbitration. It can then go to court (as it is not binding, though that could change) from either side. The FL or from Leeds.

Mrs Starry.

11/2 for 0pts back though.

It's not a question of right and wrong, it is a question of whether the FL have applied their own rules correctly.

I applaud your calmness and honesty. I am also sure you would probably get a better hearing here if you did not have to keep much of what is being done confidential. I look forward to hearing the real story at a later date.

Personally, I think Leeds should take their lenient punıishment and walk away but I understand your position. Fans of their own clubs are often blinded by their passion and believe in total commitement whatever. I have never really cared whether Falmer NIMBYs were right or wrong. We needed a stadium, that was the place we wanted it so hard luck.

I can't wish you luck but respect you for what you are doing for the club you love.

 I am actually in a particularly good mood today to be honest, it's only I've had enough of paddy's hypocritical bullshitting posts. He seems to think that getting into fights following Leeds away and damaging/defacating things at Old Trafford to the extent that he's too ashamed to even state on here precisely what he did means that he is in fact a proper football fan.

Which clearly is pretty f***ing far from the truth - given his cosying up with Ken Bates and his shameful position on the 15 point deduction whilst playing the "I'm a proper grass roots football fan" card.

An interesting and no doubt well researched post. So Starry, given your background, what do you think fans of Bournemouth will think about your appeal, given their current predicament and 'history' of Leeds coming to town. Do you think their grass roots fan base will have any sympathy for the likes of you?

A calm, and well stated opinion, that mirrors my thoughts on this.

If Leeds get the 15 points reinstated I believe all the member clubs of the FL will propose a motion that LUFC is expelled on the basis the alternative to the deduction was expulsion as they were riding roughshod over rules and agreements. The FL bent the rules to allow them to start the season and now Leeds are taking the piss out of all the clubs in the Championship , L1 and L2.

Leeds 1 Cheltenham 2. A league DOUBLE for the mighty Robins.
They now need their 15 points back just to get LEVEL with Doncaster. Lets all LAUGH at Leeds.

Russ went to the match and said that Cheltenham should have scored at least two more goals and Leeds were very disappointing considering how BIG a club they are.
