I purchased a copy of the football magazine When saturday Comes on Saturday. In it there were two mentions of a party and Lee Sharpe. It alluded to this party being the reason why he was bombed out of Man U.

Now normally I wouldnt give a big dogs cock for either Man U or Lee Sharpe, but the way it was written and mentioned in two different stories gave the impression that everyone reading it should know what it was all about. I dont know what its all about and Ive decided that I need to, and thinking about it Sharpe was bombed out pretty quickly and was a good player at the time.

So my question is; whats it all about?

Didn't he have a brain tumour or meningitis as well as an alleged habit of Colombian marching powder?

He did fall from grace quite spectaculary though for whatever reasons.

Wasn't he supposed to be a big fan of the old columbian marching powder.

O.K I get the picture. Id sort gathered all the above, but I thought (was hoping actually) that there had been a particular incident at a particular party that had got back to the scotsman and caused him to sling him out.

Never mind; I will make up my own incident and be happy.

One of my favourite football quotes is from Lee Sharpe. When was asked about how his career bombed (Man U, Leeds, Bradford, Exeter) he justified it by suggesting that had he played for these teams in reverse order no one would comment. Genius.

Careful -- I think you've just given away the plot of the next David Lynch movie.

The real story is something like Sharpe was at a party with some of the younger players the day before a match. Fergusson found out and went to the party and dragged Sharpe and the other players away. Sharpe considered to be the one who should have been setting an example to the younger players took all of the flack from Fergie and was out of Man Utd pretty soon after.

There may have also been alledged use of some white powder by Shapre when Fergie arrived.

Thanks. The mentions said something like 'Imagine the hairdryer treatment lee Sharpe got about the party' so your explanation fits in.

I seem to remember hearing Giggs was involved with this as well. I used to love watching Lee Sharpe when I was younger, he was my favourite player:thumbsup:[/I]

I am sure I'd heard Giggs was involved but not sure how. I was thinking it was either he was injured so wasn't playing in the match so thus had permission to be at the party or he was one of the younger players (but there is only 2 years between Sharpe and Giggs so not as likely).

Or it could be as simple as with Sharpes injury history Man Utd got rid of him while he was still worth something. Giggs was hauled over the coals by Fergie but considered to much of an asset to the club to be shoved out.
