Leaving Falmer Early

Too late to stop the hordes walking out well before the final whistle at Withdean, which I actually thinks affects the team.
Will it happen at Falmer though, & if so, how can the club stop it?
My opinion; if you have somewhere more important to be, don't bother coming; the game finishes when the ref blows the final whistle, that's when you should leave.

Easy solution, do what they do in Argentina...lock the home fans in after the game to allow the opposition fans time to get away from the ground.

Probably get people coming on saying why you cant do that but, it would work.

If people knew they couldn't leave til 10 mins after the game is finished, there would be no point in going anywhere

It did work at River Plate, we knew before going to the game that we weren't going to be leaving in a hurry...the atmosphere after the final whistle wasn't far off what it had been during the match, people kept singing for the whole of the half hour until the gates were opened.

Install fairground ride seats with bars across the front that won't allow you to get up until the club let you.

My thoughts too. Going to take longer to get back to the park 'n' rides, and with the bigger crowds people will start setting off about 10 minutes early I reckon.

Still they've paid their money so they can do what they like I guess

I guess it won't affect the players so much at Falmer because the exits are not along the side of the pitch there

Not a massive fan of leaving early but saying stuff like "if you can't stay for the 90 minutes then don't come at all" is nonsense. If you need to be somewhere in the evening you can still watch most of the match. For a lot of people it might come down to missing 2 or 3 minutes of football, which is often meaningless as the result is not in doubt anyway, in order to save up to 30 minutes. Whilst some of the superfans might not like this it doesn't mean everyone has to sit there until they're allowed to leave!

I used to leave early, not because I needed to be somewhere, but because the park and ride buses get busy and the option is leave a couple of minutes early and beat the queue, or be left stood beside the road for half an hour, which in bad weather is even more of an event to avoid.

Now I just walk home, so stay until the final whistle

What a stupid thread. What about the people that leave 5 minutes before half time to fill their faces with crap food. Let's stop all that. Also, what about the piss heads who queue all through half time to have a piss. Should they be allowed back to their seats. Should anyone be allowed to leave early irrespective of the reason. Some people have far to travel and if watching only 85 minutes of a game is all they can do then why should they be penalised?

i left 1 minute early today but after thinking about it probaly left 89 minutes late,thought we were poor against a poor side

It's going to be a nightmare getting back from Falmer, especially from midweek games when you have work in the morning. The trains won't cope, in fact they'll probably have to close the station for safety reasons on a regular basis same as they did at Preston Park station for Pride last saturday. Fully expecting to have to walk back into Brighton after most midweek matches. Oh well.
