Can we not move the Amex to central Hove ? because no-one left the Goldstone early.
Or better still North/West London, that Arsenal Stadium, 60,000 of em, packed in at full time, and Wembley, go to an England Match, in the unlikely event you did leave on 89 minutes you’d see tumbleweed rolling down Wembley Way and you’d have a tube carriage to yourself.

But i would say the majority that leave early don’t need to leave early they want to in order to beat the queues for the trains and buses.
I presume you're OK with that. And by leaving early they are reducing slightly the mad scramble to get out of the car parks.

Anyway, as numerous folk have said, it is what it is.

There are a few times when people genuinely need to duck out early for other commitments but generally it's people who don't really care enough. The bigger the game the less that leave early. I don't leave early and wouldn't regardless of weather or transport

There’s always such a backlash and personal abuse towards anyone who mentions this. The op is asking for genuine feedback about a legitimate issue, and the result is a bunch of total bellends giving him shit for it.

It’s almost as if you’re equal amounts ashamed of your actions as you’re in denial, the latter being easier to cope with and lash out as a result.
If you really think the op is asking for genuine feedback, then you cannot see a stirrer? It starts a thread, knowing it is controversial and then runs away.
I‘m not ashamed of leaving early. There was a break in the weather, which had been sciling it down earlier, the referee and cheating Fulham (dying swans) were really annoying me, and I wanted to get home into the warm where my arthritis didn’t give me gyp. At my age, I couldn’t give a stuff what you or the op think of me. Get over it.

I don’t recall transport being an issue at the Goldstone yet plenty left early there too. Been the same for years at every ground I’ve ever been too. Some people get to a certain point and decide they’ve seen enough. Their choice, though not mine
I don’t think I ever left a game early at the Goldstone but then I could jump on the number 7 (busy bee, remember them?) at Hove Station and be back home in Upper Rock Gardens in half an hour. Not saying it didn’t happen, but just not as prevalent. As I said earlier I think I’ll be leaving evening matches early from now on.

I’m sure you’re right, but there are things happening in some peoples lives that mean that they need to get away to avoid the delays. It pisses me off that those whose only priority in life is staying to the end think that everyone else should do the same.

How do we solve this issue with our fan base? 1-1 against Fulham and so many empty seats. I understand it's Sunday, weather is awful and getting home is important, but so is cheering on the team.

It's definitely a transport issue, can the club put more pressure on Southern to provide a better service post-match? I think the service is half decent and wonder if it wouldn't change people's habits. But after COVID, the fans are vital to players' performances at the end of a match. All I can say is credit to those who stay until the bitter end

Monorail?

On the odd occasion that I stood at the back of the chicken run there was always a steady stream of people visible walking along the Old Shoreham Road from about 85 minutes. Obviously not the same amount of added time in those days
