Brighton factually.....
I am going out on a limb here, I think, he cannot be that stupid, he has gone home, his parents or close friends have told him a few home truths and he will be back, i think he will try and make amends, and.....
Nailed on in the squad for Leicester....

You're going to regret admitting that. NSC will now want an hourly report on all his movements for the rest of his contract :lolol:
Starting now. Did he have a wide-eyed, 'rabbit caught in headlights' look about him?

I'm wondering if his wife gave him an ultimatum over the weekend, and more than half his assets and future earnings passed before his eyes.

Part of me feels for him. Belgium we're a disaster at the WC and he really banked on that being his platform to push on to better things. But his reaction to that disappointment and subsequently making it other peoples problems is upsetting given how highly regarded he was to us before. Now all the neutrals are talking about Mitoma, Caicedo, Mac...even Solly March (my liverpool mate is raving about him and that was even before their Amex haunting) and he's got all uppety about it.

Also worth mentioning that given events this season Brighton fans are feeling a bit less sentimental than usual. RDZ has huge support, not just from his post-Potterball De Zerbismo ruthlessness but that he (in a way) helped the fans grieve the loss of potter. Feel like Tross underestimated the fans tolerance to his "ambitions", to put it in a nice way. The agent tactic is ugly.

So it's best he moves on if he's going to be a little pussyhole and harsh our mellow.

FWIW my unqualified assessment says approx £25m will be the number.
the agent is a tic , if Tossard stays there is peanuts on offer to him , even if Tossard goes on a 12 mill deal he will scoop a nice pay day , it's a shit part of the game and it's something that needs some serious thought , TB giving them the bird will be doing football a favour imho , having said that there is so much BS on social media ,its turned into an embarrassing situation for all involved apart from the shit stirring , dick head of an agent.

Maybe in future try being more specific. You said 'Madrid' so like 99.99% of fans would, we assumed Real Madrid.
Not if you’d read my previous posts or subsequent ones from others- I had said the club had dropped out of the Champions and had financial issues among other things so obviously not talking about Real , as well as posting links to a story about Atletico ! - Who’s the 99%‘we’? Several posters stepped in to clarify several times the story was relating to Atletico! But if that’s an apology- I will take it in the spirit it was hopefully meant🤷🏻‍♂️

As others have said, the problem Trossard has is that he openly covets a big move and, although being ambitious is no bad thing, he just isn't consistent enough to be appealing to the big boys. People talk about Chelsea but they have Sterling, Pulisic, Ziyech, Felix, Gallagher, Havertz and now Mudryk who ALL play across the front 3.

Spurs? Maybe, but if he can't deal with De Zerbi's demands, I doubt he and Conte will get along. Arsenal have Martinelli and United have Garnacho (both exciting youth players) and City are out of his league. That leaves Liverpool (who seem uninterested) or Newcastle

Yup, his summer has clearly been spent with his agent blowing smoke up his arse, telling him how post-World Cup it’s payday, and yet the combination of a poor World Cup coupled with the emergence of Mitoma, Sarmiento and March hitting form have left him very much a squad player.

None of the big lads are massively interested in a player who’s inconsistently brilliant for 3-4 months a season and anonymous for stretches inbetween.

The joke is, if he’d come back from the WC focused, he’d probably be getting game time and scoring, losing the tag of “he only scores when it’s warm” and doing his reputation and market value the world of good.

Very poor from Trossard and very poorly dealt with.

No problem with letting a player who isn't professional in training sessions train on his own. That doesn't mean Roberto De Zerbi needs to sit at a press conference and burn £15-20m in front of the journalists. Should have been dealt with internally, instead we have a situation where the entire football world knows that Brighton needs to offload Trossard, a change from the previous perception that it would be preferred to keep him but that he could possibly be bought for a decent fee given his contract situation.

This is essentially showing all the cards for any club who'd like to buy him. No one is going to pay decent money for him, knowing that Trossard staying in the club at this point would be a shite situation where you have this ghost wandering around the training facilities. There's no "reserve team" for him to train with like some suggest.. the option is for him to train with the U21s which is no environment for a sulking player who doesn't give his all. Freeze him out from any sort of training and the player union will be all over it. He needs to be sold or loaned out and everybody knows it. I don't see a world where he can be sold for more than £15m at this point.

Everyone is a loser in this situation... for no good reason. Trossard won't have improved his chances of finding a good club, RDZ making it a public shitshow has zero gain and of course people at the club should have told him that showing off dirty laundry in front of the cameras just isn't helpful.

Not a disaster though, the player has diminishing importance and I reckon he'll be out of the club at the end of the transfer window, but there's just a lot of room for improvement the next time a similar situation happens.

Why would you take 12 million when he is worth at least 30+ million , why should we sell him on the cheap ,
if he wants to leave the buying team had to pay what he is worth to the club
He's not worth anything to us playing in the reserves or even being an unhappy player on the bench.
So you would tell our entire squad and any future players that all they have to do to get their own way is to throw a hissy fit ( no pun int - ok maybe a little intended :) ) to get what they want ? .
No. I want players who have a) clearly downed tools b) made their agent issue a pitiful statement to the press and c) seem to be stinking the place out, not to be at the club.
I'm glad you're not running the club.
Me too. :)

I really do think people are underestimating what's going on here. For me the agents statement was a total game changer. Everything RDZ said in pressers was IMHO absolutely fine. The agents response was childish and if you read it properly clearly suggests he and the player expect a move. You have to ask yourself this: what's worse for the club? Having someone around the place like that or getting rid of him on the cheap? I think it's totally paranoid to think that if we sold Trossard relatively cheaply all our other players would simply do the same and force moves. Clearly the atmosphere around the club, in training, the general morale, is superb. Clearly RDZ is hugely popular amongst the playing staff.
Why risk ruining all this?
Obviously a lot of this is all guess work from all of us but there are some undeniable facts. And the statement is out there for all to read. It was released to undermine the club. It was pathetic. I'm afraid there is a line. It's been crossed I believe. As RDZ has said (and others), arguments happen all the time behind closed doors. RDZ was careful not to mention this, he followed the 'calf strain' line to clearly keep the full information out of the press, but the agent has had absolutely no hesitation in muddying the whole affair in public.
As I've said before, the only way this can be resolved beyond his sale is Trossard immediately sacking his agent, releasing his own statement explaining he has been under stress (WC and pregnant wife a great excuse for that) and getting his head down.
It works both ways. You're all worried selling him cheaply will set a trend, but i personally think it's not a great look and not a great example for our younger players if we just carry on like nothing happened. Trossard MUST have okayed the statement. He made that call.
Ultimately a player who isn't playing is worth 0 until another team make an offer for him. It's easy to say he is worth £30 million but to who? What if he plays in the stiffs for the rest of the season? How much is he worth in the Summer? Again, 0 until another team makes a bid. Obviously £12 million is peanuts for a player who on his day is exceptional, and we wouldn't sell him for that in normal circumstances, but as I said at the top, this isn't a normal situation. How many times can you actually remember an agent releasing a statement like this?!

Look, I would love this all to blow over. I'd love a motivated Trossard here. I'd love him to extend his contract or at least publicly declare his commitment to the club, but let's get real- that seems very unlikely to happen.

I don’t see where he goes in PL (either now or before his agent’s outburst) if he goes to a team above us he’s on the bench, if he wants to start he has to go to a team below us. He’s not a guaranteed starter for Brighton so he’s not big money in the first place.

Probably easy to forget, because of how good Mitoma has been and March upturn in form just what a good player Trossard is, yes it sounds like he acted like a twerp but there may be underlying reasons, I don’t think a reconciliation is out of the question.

He’s still one of our most talented players, and imagine how good RDZ has got March and Mitoma playing how good Tross could be?

I could see Arsenal given they missed out on Mudryk. Good cover for them up top to make sure they don’t mess up the league from this point
