Managed to miraculously stop sulking and raise his game when the chance of a World Cup place was up for grabs. Maybe he'll do the same during the January transfer window? The comedown in February if he's still here could be brutal tho
This totally
Would not be too upset if he left this window. One of the most inconsistent players i have seen in an Albion shirt

Lovely player to watch sometimes.

Sadly, hard to even see sometimes too!

For someone whose best moments in an Albion shirt are frequent enough to make him comfortably our top scorer over the past 18 months as well as spearheading some of the greatest performances and most memorable results in the club's history, it feels a shame if this is how a lot of fans are going to remember his time here.

In the context of this topic, the main thing I make of this is that it would be a lot easier to make sense of if the totals were by month rather than by year.
On the other hand, at least he's improving year on year. Disappointing he didn't continue to double the goals scored each year though.
Good point on the totals and if I could be arsed I would change it, but I can’t. But 20 of his 26 goals are scored in what can loosely be classed as “non winter”.

A lot of Brighton 'supporters', though, are the sort who regard our players as servants, who are one poor game away from being thrown into the 'get rid' bin.

This is why I have little to do with them. I sneak into the Amex, have a chat with my lovely chums, watch the game, then get the feck out of there.

And exhale.

Love him, he hasn't been on it in the couple of games back after the world cup, I imagine that there is massive disappointment for him in how little he was used and how poorly his squad did, he will get over it and back on form.
However, with the signings we have made, or are making, we almost need to sell him soon to make the space for either Sarmiento, Enciso, Adingra, Buonanotte, or that Roony Bardghji kid Swansman thinks we may be chasing.

He must be gutted that Hazard kept on being picked ahead of him in the WC - and as captain too. Hazard is even more past it than Ronaldo and contributed nothing in the WC. Hopefully Hazard keeps to his "international retirement" pledge so Trossard should get far more opportunities in future.

Some moron texted Radio Sussex after the match with something like 'that's Trossard gone, get rid'. Ungrateful idiot.

That's because those are not fans; they're entitled, and bores. It's a dreadful combination but 'it is what it is' and is a sign of 'we are where we are'.

Re Trossard. I agree with all those saying, he's a terrific player for us. Our best player from our pre World Cup matches.

But I look at yesterday's line up and result and think that he is going to have to perform or he's going to be edged out. With the emergence of Ferguson, Sarmiento and Mitoma, and the return of Welbeck at some point, competition for those places will be fierce and Leo won't keep his place with lukewarm performances. This also assumes RDZ doesn't bring in someone in attacking positions.

A change of management will help no end.

As for LT here, he has competition, which is good, but he's still top of the pile Afor quality on his day.

He knows that, and that no one will sign him if he's bench warming due to lack of form. I fully expect a swift return and a goal or two.

Gotta get Mac and Lallana back into the team too.

A little surprised no one has spotted this nugget in Barry Glendenning's article (https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...rumours-newcastle-chelsea-arsenal-southampton)

Newcastle have also been linked with Real Madrid full-back Ferland Mendy and Brighton winger Leandro Trossard. On Tuesday, the Seagulls triggered an option to extend Trossard’s contract to the summer of 2024, in a move that is not meant to warn off potential suitors but will jack up the asking price for any interested parties in the current window.

If he stays and works to be more consistent, all good.
If he goes, I say thanks for your time. We do have players who can fill his role and would benefit from having more game minutes, so certainly not the end of the world.

As difficult as it is, I accept that players will come and go and – regardless of if they are with us for one season or 10 – they are, to an extent, just another employee in a business. It comes as no surprise when players move on – disappointment, yes – especially if they are striving to be the best they can and prove themselves on the biggest stages. As a slight aside, it does make me laugh that some people are slagging off Trossard for not being good enough at the same time as 'big' clubs are sniffing around him because they, presumably, think the opposite!

Recent changes of personnel (on and off the field) have proven that the main people at the club know what they are doing and will, most of the time, make the right decision and negotiate the 'right' prices. In other words, in some respects, I'm already looking forward to Trossard's replacement!
