So we will have March, knocky, jahanbash, locadia all as wingers , or at least all those have been used as them...so now we are looking at another one. Also if Potter is looking to play 3 centrebacks and two win backs as fullbacks, that certainly is something different.

However if he is to be used as an attacking midfielder, then this is certainly great news.

Also very interesting that he must have turned arsenal down as there are also tweets earlier that they had offered €28million!

I have a feeling with what looks to be the setting up of this team, we are going to offer something big for a decent goal scorer...I wonder about Girout(sp) or someone of his ilk?

Can we all agree to stop referring to Locadia as a winger? He may or may not be any good but I think we can all agree there was only one man who thought he could be a winger and he’s now left the club...

Left and right wing, attacking mid. Center forward was his position in youth divisions, but hasn't played there since (I think). He preferes the attacking mid, I think he's best from the left wing.
Handy.

He will be the attacking midfielder we need as competition to Groß, as well as being the left winger the squad is short of with Izquierdo being injured.

You can add Izquierdo to that list - albeit he won't be back in action until Christmas. This would be a fantastic signing if we can pull it off.

I think that both Trossard and Clarke will both be very good additions to the team and improve us. However, both Potter and Barber have said publicly that we wouldn't be making a large number of signings in this window. If they are to be believed, then the fact that we've prioritised the signing of a central defender and a winger is a little concerning. Most of us would agree that we are light/weak in the right back and striker positions (and possibly the central midfield too). I would be quite worried if we went into the season without reinforcements in those positions. Perhaps we'll be more active in the window than Barber and Potter originally suggested.
We are always more active than Deputy Barber publically suggests.

1-3 more signings, I reckon.

So far :

- Central Defence : Clarke

- Attacking Midfield : Trossard ( also left wing )

[ - Defensive Midfield : Baluta ]

This leaves

- Striker ( essential )
- Right back ( maybe Schelotto, so optional )
- Central midfielder ( only if Pröpper goes to Ajax, optional )

(It could be that if Pröpper stays, we may still bring in a central midfielder, but Kayal goes instead.)

Absolutely, and agree with what’s really needed. Will be v disappointed and surprised if we don’t get a striker in. No merit at all in Barber telling everyone we’re desperate for this or that, would just bump the prices up. Club always play everything extremely close to their chests on transfers - even after a deal the fee is almost always ‘undisclosed’.

Hmmm. But perhaps we shouldn't be surprised, given that the player himself only got married at the weekend.

Except for the fact that he played on the wing for PSV as well as in the striker role.

Not convinced about that.

We’ve had various wingers tried in the No. 10 position with no success. I think we need a type-for-type back up to Groß instead of someone who has played about 10 games there. Someone like Hagi, Mac Allister (next season) or even Powell (free).

Agent returned to Belgium with no agreement on Personal Terms.

Supposedly he is keen to join and obviously if the player was staying in Belgium over the weekend (wedding etc) he was never going to sign immediately. It is probably more of a case of the agent returning to Trossard with the Brighton offer and then negotiate from there.. I would have imagined in normal circumstances both player and agent would have traveled but his wedding would have taken priority..

I assume this is perfectly normal. Hopefully we’ll have a new signing by the end of the week.
