As the cost of tickets seems to have been much discussed in light of Saturday's relatively low attendance figure, I did a quick survey of other League 1 clubs via their official web sites, recording the cheapest and most expensive regular (ie not those available by way of 'family' packages etc) adult tickets at each club.

Details are below. Where clubs grade fixtures and price accordingly I took the middle category of game. Where clubs offer a discount for buying in advance compared to on-the-day, I recorded the advanced price since this is the closest fit to the Albion. (A lot of clubs offer a £2 reduction for those that buy before the day itself)...

Code:
[b]Team Min	Max	Comment[/b]

Orient 20.00	22.00	Most seem to be £20
Huddersfield 16.50	19.50	advance prices. on the day add £2.50
Crewe 19.00	19.00	associates (whatever they are, are £3 cheaper)
Swindon 15.00	18.00	(some £18 tickets are £2 more on the day)
Carlisle 14.00	18.00	advance prices. on the day add £2.00
Millwall 18.00	25.00	advance prices. on the day add £2.00
Tranmere 15.00	25.00	(Category B games, of which most are. A more exp, C cheaper)
Brighton 23.50	27.00
Hartlepool 18.00	20.00
Luton 21.50	26.00	advance prices. on the day add £2.00

it showed in the family stands, end of last season it was the only full stand for many games

that was because of deals for parents and kids, and adults was only £15 to get in.

thats gone up £8 which puts hundreds of people off

bad move, and it shows badly!

to be fair, the club do add a premium to travel, which is probably worth a couple of squids.

Also, most of them you can pay on the day( irrelevant to the argument, but still a factor people do not go)

the £15 deals were occassional 'specials'.

The family stand pricing hasn't chaged at all since last season.

I pay £23.50 for my seat and £1 each for the two little ones.

I suppose its swings and round-a-bouts as I never use the train or bus, so I am therefore paying the higher price, But I knew that when I paid my money over

Unless you go in the other way. :)
Dunno why it doesn't extend to Worthing anyway, the bus does.

That East Stand (middle one behind the goal) was cheaper than £23.50 last year. As far as I can work out this season it has become an extension of the Family Stand, meaning the cheapest Adult ticket is now £23.50.

so would this mean that when we have a pay on the gate/whatever will happen at falmer to hand money over on the day, tickets on the day will be cheaper than those bought in advance, as obviously you've travelled there already and so probably aren't wanting a travel voucher?

The simple Answer would be to drop ticket prices to £19 which it seems i the average for this division. I know its only a few quid less than the existing price but subconciously it make a huge difference.

This debate will go on and on tho.

Funny how I got absolutely reamed last year for suggesting that prices were to high.

There won't be a 'pay on the gate' at Falmar; I believe this is specified in the approval letter.

It's such a shame they can't make the travel voucher optional. I really believe that would encourage a lot more people to go. Out of the £23.50, there is obviously a good £4-£5 the albion don't see a penny of. That's money that fans have to pay regardless, the train and bus companies get, and many people don't even use. It puts people off going for sure, and who knows how much that is costing the club in total. I have a season ticket, so it's irrelevant for me, but I can honestly say that I would go to pretty much, if not, every single match for £18-£19; I would most certainly not if I was paying £23.50 every other week!
What? Does the travel voucher cover the train from Haywards Heath? I thought it was only local buses. I walk to the ground! No wonder I think it's expensive. Sod STHs - when are the club going to do something for LOCAL fans?

Just a question. Bearing in mind Saturday's gate. When Falmer is built, will we be able to attract attendances four or five fold the current numbers.
