He was well protected by his team, Majka got him right up there. Still has to deliver though. I fear Ineos's inability to commit to a single leader may cost them. Appeared Yates and Thomas both had to find other wheels and neither stayed with the kick.

There will always be suspicion, but he didn’t ride off from everyone, he just saved enough to get a wheels length ahead of Vingegaard and just broke the GC group to 12 secs. He’s in great form and the team are well motivated for him. Compared to some past riders disappearing up the road I think it’s been ebb and flow stuff.
We need to take it stage by stage. At the moment he’s a prodigious talent.
I hope to God that Giuseppe Saronni hasn’t been up to his old tricks, and at the moment I think Pogacar is just loving cycling. I wonder if he might have gone early and may tire later in the race - but I doubt it.
He is head and shoulders above everyone else, and when that happens people ask questions, hence we have David Walsh to thank. As long as the data backs up Pogacar then we’re ok.

There's every chance Pogacar will win his third Tour de France before Merckx had even competed in his first.
With 11 stage wins already, our assumption that the Merckx/Cav record was one for the ages, doesn't look so certain.
