Agreed. Not the most eloquent but knows his stuff. I do feel however that he’s only one sentence away from ‘do you want fries with that’.

I was about to say that I how you good you are as a player’ is inversely proportional to ‘how good you are as a pundit’. Morrison, journeyman player, decent pundit. Hansen brilliant player, Arse pundit ... then I remembered Robbie savage ........

Often the case. George Best was a brilliant player but seem to remember him being a terrible pundit. Always stating the bleeding obvious as if it were some amazing revelation.

Morrisons voice is awful on the radio and on t v you have to suffer him gurning as well.

On this point, I thought Pardew was very good on Prime for our Arsenal game and Spurs games. Kept saying how well GPott has done and how he likes our football.

On the subject of pundits generally, I wonder if they should have a sell-by date? After a couple of seasons (at best in some cases), they just get a bit same old/same old. I always find listening to a newbie more engaging than one of the ancients (BBC please note).

Best football pundit that I have ever heard - by a proverbial mile - Johnny Giles. The guy knows football and knows exactly what is going on every minute of a game. Even at 80 years of age his mind is as sharp as anything.
