I can sort of see your point. OK lets vore them out in the next local elections.
Pretty fair summing up.Pavilionaire said:I commend Samrah and the formation of The Seagulls Party. It would be good to see a poll or two in the local papers to gauge the potential impact of the new party on the local elections in 11 months time.
If the LDC could see evidence that their Falmer stance might lose them power they might reconsider their position. Alternatively they blindly carry on and are trounced at the polls.
Politically Prescott is under fire, as is Blair by association. Ruth Kelly would be making a bad situation for the party in Sussex worse by doing a u-turn on Falmer. I fully expect her to go along with the spirit of his statement.
Now is not the time for us to get disillusioned. Today's LDC statement has raised the stakes and we as fans must get behind the club and the new party. LDC will get what's coming to them.

Ruth Kelly wrote back to Lewes. Now we don't know the contents of that letter (Lewes won't tell anyone apart from their 'friends' - e.g. Falmer Parish Council), but as a result of this, Lewes intend to go to court anyway.

Seagulls Party Calls for Resignation of Council Leader
Following today’s decision by Lewes District Council’s Cabinet to continue their legal challenge against Brighton & Hove Albion’s proposed community stadium at Falmer, the Seagulls Party is calling for the resignation of Lewes District Leader, Ann de Vecchi.
Seagulls Party Leader, Paul Samrah, said “By choosing to continue their reckless legal challenge, Lewes Council’s Cabinet have demonstrated both their fundamental ignorance of the process they are embarking upon and an arrogant dismissal of the views of thousands of local residents. The Seagulls Party considers they are unfit to administer the district council and we are calling upon the leader of the council to resign.
Samrah continued: “If Ann de Vecchi is so confident that local people will back her Cabinet’s stance, then she will have no problem letting them have their say through the ballot box. We are ready and willing to fight the by-election that would result from her resignation”.
The Seagulls Party also rebut the Council’s assumption contained in their statement released after today’s Cabinet meeting that “the costs of the High Court hearing will be met by the Government”. The best that the council can hope for is that the planning decision will be quashed and Ruth Kelly, the Secretary of State, will be asked to reconsider it. Since that is precisely what has been offered by the government already, it is certain that legal costs will mount unnecessarily - solely from this latest action of Lewes District Council. There is a real likelihood that costs will be claimed from the council, in excess of the funds they have set aside.
