So, if we were in a penalty shoot out with Villa and Maupay scores, then villa take a penalty, score or whatever. Then Maupay walks up to Grealish and says, you're a dirty cheating **** and smacks him straight on the nose, knocking him out, is he then sent off but there is no recording of the incident so he does not get a 3 game ban?

No because he hasn’t left the field of play so that would still count. It’s if booked for technical reasons time gamesmanship or deliberately time wasting etc

Laws are though the game has finished therefore any booking offence administered during the game is an irrelevance. Also a booking/sending off during a penalty shootout is not registered.

Not sure if he had already been booked during the shoot out as the clip I've seen is his second booking and red. That in itself appeared to be for coming off his line which is bemusing. What should have happened was a referee who understands association football and not some weird yank game. Can't see him refereeing a top game anytime soon. His adding skills are only surpassed by Trump's

Just for clarity. You CAN be sent off in a penalty shoot out, but yellow cards shouldn't be carried over. So a second yellow in the shoot out shouldn't have resulted in a red. Obviously two yellows or a straight red in the shoot out would still result in a red.

Also a keeper should be warned as to his encroaching first, then cautioned if they persist.

The penalty taker feints to take the penalty at the end of his run up and the keeper moves at that point it is an infringement and results in an indirect freekick and a booking to the attacker for ungentlemanly conduct. .
