Am a huge film buff (with some contributions to the Film 20** threads) but must admit to knowing absolutely nothing about these:

August Rush
Somewhere In Time

Tell me more Uncle S?

August rush is a gem.

John Rhys Meyers is in an irish rock band, and he has a fleeting affair with concert cellist (i think) Keri Russell. The result of this affair is a baby, but at the birth, Keri's father tells her the baby died and gives the baby away.

Cut to so many years later and the baby is now freddie highmore, a musical prodigy who leaves his orphanage to go hunt his parents by making the greatest music he can, and he has a series of adventures as he searches for his parents (who grew up having miserable lives).

It's quite whimsical, but is utterly brilliant.

I'm not familiar with the other film.
