Give up spending on players altogether and arrange a couple of top ups to the appropriate referees pension funds, whilst giving the FA's old codgers a nice fat bung!
Give Southampton and Burnley a call. They will er fill you in..................

Paul Smith Swindon keeper.

I DESPERATELY hope that is not the case. Not to mention the fact his name is Phil. Joke of a goalkeeper. He didn't play one season, they were in the play-offs. Then he played most of the season, they went down. This season, not playing = best defence in the league. The man isn't worthy of professional status. Pathetic goalkeeper, I hope there isn't even a shread of truth in it. But my biggest fear is that Poyet was there when he was signed... Joke of a goalie. I won't believe it!!!

Livermore on loan - spurs to buy dunk in Jan....... Watch this space

I'd like to think it's unlikely Gus will let a first team regular leave mid season, no matter how good the offer. His value is only likely to increase and if he really is worth all that we're better off cashing in during the summer having had the benefit of his services for a full season.

He's young enough not to be in any immediate hurry to get to the Premier League. I hope

I think he would still be loaned to us until end of the season

Joe Lewis is up for sale from Peterborough.
I remember him being very good when we played them away but he makes too many mistakes too often.

I'd like that. Mainly because I've just signed him for us in my game of Football Manager 2012. Seems to be as good a source of information as that bloody transfer rumours site.

That site says that CMS is going to Celtic and we are interested in Keith Andrews who is on loan at Ipswich and Paul Smith Swindon keeper.

Phil Smith is a dreadful keeper. Was signed from Crawley I believe, in the days when they were shit. Too short, very error prone. Looked rubbish against us at Withdean.

On the face of it, selling your better players is not a good long term plan, as we all know. On the other hand you cant deny a player a chance to better himself and im sure Poyet would be the first to say that. With that in mind, I think Dunk may well go in Jan and with El Abd back fit, Cook getting first team experience on loan, maybe Reyes staying and Calderon back fit this could be a shrewd bit of business. If we got a couple of million and maybe a keeper and a midfielder on loan thrown into the deal.
