Was probably quite cheap, what with them only requiring nine seats on the plane.

None of the first team squad (all eight of them) are going to Spain as the administrator wants them to be available to leave at short notice to join other clubs. Pompey are fielding youngsters and trialists in the games against Gibraltar and us.

On their website, they currently show themselves as 15th in league one, due to alphabetical order. Surely they are bottom, 10 points adrift!

They're hoping to have the deduction waived once all the creditors who thought they might get back 20p in the £ sometime before 2060 (50 years after the 2nd administration in 2010) and are now being offered less than 1p in the £ will overwhelmingly support the 2012 CVA. The FL should increase the points deduction to 25 on the basis of Pompey trying to take the piss.

It probably coincided with their school summer exchange trip to Spain.

That would be a world record. Relegated before the end of July!

The email address is infopompeyfc.co.uk

Wouldn't it be amusing if thousands of British taxpayers all bombarded that email address with claims? I'm speaking entirely hypothetically, of course, far be it for me to suggest anyone should do that

Email sent, I wonder if they'll bother to reply...

Apparently it is largely if not totally funded by the Gibralter FA - I say largely because it would be a bit strange for the Gib authorities to pay all the costs when they are staying in Spain

Just for the record its mainly being funded by the Gibralter FA. However some of its coming from some deluded supporter:

Life-long Blues supporter Dave Ellis has dug into his own pockets and stumped up a five-figure sum to enable Michael Appleton’s men to travel to southern Spain.

The owner of Fareham-based companies Ellis Electrical and Ellis Integrated Systems, the 56-year-old has a long history of sponsoring Pompey events.

Ellis has given his financial backing to all four Hall of Fame evenings, as well as the recent Boys of ’87 event at the Marriott.

Now the south stand season-ticket holder has contributed to Appleton’s Spanish training camp, along with the Gibraltar FA.

Must remember never to buy anything from this muppets firm.

Perhaps he might like to put his hand in his pocket and pay some of the charities, local firms and the HMRC before arranging a jolly for the serial fraudsters!
In fairness, it is always the supporters who pick up the pieces after the shysters have left a mess. No-one likes seeing the St Johns Ambulance out of pocket, and these sort of organisations often find themselves the beneficiaries of fan organised collections.

Dick Knights Mumm is right. It's unrealistic for him to pay the debt to the tax man. He's just a moderately wealthy fan and as DKM says, all clubs need fans like this. He's put his hands in his pockets at a time when there is no glory in doing so.

Apart from the acres of free publicity splashed across the Portsmouth Evening News perhaps.

So if a creditor from 2010 was owed £1000 and was going to get back (ok , very unlikely) £200 from that CVA they can now look forward to receiving £4 from the 2012 CVA

I'm surprised they're not asking for the £26 pp in cash too!! But the cash bar is the funniest part - whats the odds the banks have removed the card machines because they can't afford them!!! Tinpot jokes.
