Remember the Digweed penalty save being at 1-0. So many great memories of the day but looking at the footage brings home to me how poor we were back then compared to now. Real progress on and off the pitch....

this hugely but there were some in the Albion team that might just scrape into the team now
Wilkins maybe ??
thanks for putting this on

Yes, these are the 'high' lights of the match. I've cut out all the sliced clearances, players lobbing up-and-unders into the opposition areas and tennis-style midfield exchanges where possession changes from team to team every five seconds.

Love the quality of football in the first minute - we would laugh at this now and wonder what on earth was going on. And to think that some of us were still screaming "Get rid! Get rid!" less than two years ago.....

Wonderful video. Brings back so many memories. Great atmosphere in the North Stand and great pitch invasion. Only remembered the empty terraces when I saw the video.

This for me was the end of an era. The following year we had lost the squad and all form and the rest is history. I was furious to see that team disbanded and unsupported. We are better now, but it was a great year.

Thanks for a great memory!

I have watched that now for two hours non-stop. Look at Dean (Ladies Man!!!!! Seventh!!!!!) Wilkins in those shorts, it got my motor running so much I had to pop upstairs for my rampant rabbit (called DEAN!!) and have given my freshly trimmed minkie such a hammering that it now resembles an octopus getting out of a wetsuit.

That was a great season,Johnny Byrne is my favourite all time player and him and Mike Small were awesome together up front.Barry Lloyd did a good job putting this team together and it was a great season against the odds.
The play off games against Millwall are up there with my greatest Albion moments.

I had to work for both of the semi's and my first wife(not the slightest interested in football) met me from work about 10pm with the message from my father in law that they had done it (she did not have a clue what he was on about) but I spent the whole walk home punching the air.
